Roman Plans Swoop For Rio
Rio Ferdinand is on the verge of a dramatic return to London, with big-spending Chelsea poised to lure him to Stamford Bridge in a £20million swoop. Chelsea are ready to add Ferdinand to their multi-talented ranks even though the Manchester United and England defender could face a ban if the Football Association decide to charge him over a missed drugs test. Ferdinand, who has struggled to assert himself during a 16-month stint at Old Trafford, would dearly love to team up once more with close friend and former West Ham colleague Frank Lampard. And sources close to the 24-year-old defender confirm he is desperate for a return closer to his family and friends in London. But Ferdinand´s planned switch in January when the transfer window reopens would represent a massive blow to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Salgado prefere chelsea .
=>"FA to meet on Rio"
FA calls for phone records
The scale of Rio Ferdinand´s punishment for missing a routine drugs test could become clearer on Monday when Football Association investigators meet.
Key to their investigation will be Ferdinand´s mobile phone records and the FA is reported to be furious that the player has still not made these available.
The Manchester United defender is certain to be charged for missing a routine appointment at the club´s Carrington training ground last month.
But investigators, led by the head of the FA´s compliance unit, Steve Barrow, must now decide whether Ferdinand deliberately missed his drugs test.
FA spokesman Adrin Cooper refused to elaborate on the possible outcome of Monday´s meeting.
He told BBC Sport: " We will not be making any further comment until it has been decided how to move the case forward."
That may depend on the FA´s reaction to Ferdinand´s failure to respond to their their demands for details of the calls he made and received on the day of his missed appointment.
The delay of nearly a week could result in the FA settling on a charge of wilful failure to attend a drugs test, the more serious of the charges facing Ferdinand.
Phone records could back Ferdinand´s claim that he simply forgot to take the test, switched his phone off and could not be contacted by Manchester United officials for a crucial 90-minute period.
If records back that claim, he could face a lesser charge of failing to attend a drugs test, which may only carry a fine.
But any calls made during the period would allow the FA to lay a more serious charge that he wilfully ignored calls to attend the drugs test.
That charge could carry a maximum two-year ban from football.
Ferdinand, who claims he forgot about the test as he was moving house, did eventually take - and pass - a test 36 hours later but that will not have any bearing on any disciplinary action.
The England defender may also call on Manchester City midfielder Eyal Berkovic to give evidence on his behalf.
Berkovic, who has the same agent as Ferdinand, met the Manchester United defender on the afternoon he missed his test.
Israeli international Berkovic could provide evidence on the efforts Ferdinand made to rectify the situation after he realised he had missed the test.
Autre chose hords sujet .
Dallas vient d´echanger walker contre lafrentz .

Manchester United want to sign 16-year-old Wimbledon midfielder Lee Martin, who is also a target for Arsenal ( The Independent).
pourquoi faire ?
United’s Don deal
Manchester United are ready to throw Wimbledon a financial lifeline by snapping up young Lee Martin from the cash-strapped First Division club. United have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race for the 16-year old midfield prospect and will be prepared to pay a fee if he impresses in training with them this week.

=>The Football Association are expected to charge Rio Ferdinand with misconduct on Thursday as a result of his failure to attend a drugs test last month.
The FA´s compliance unit will spend tomorrow studying the evidence and though they could announce charges on Wednesday, with United playing Rangers in the Champions League that night they will wait until at least the following day before making any announcement.
Ferdinand is certain to face at least one charge of failing to attend an anti-doping test and the FA will have to decide whether there is enough evidence to charge him with `wilful´ or deliberate failure to attend the drugs test on September 23. That is a more severe charge and would carry a certain ban.
The FA have been frustrated by the delay in receiving the phone records, which were published in two Sunday newspapers.
It is now apparent his mobile phone was switched on during the afternoon of September 23 and raises questions as to why he did not respond sooner to messages from United telling him he had missed the test.
Ferdinand will hope the records support his claims that he did contact the FA once he realised he had forgotten the appointment.
According to reports, Ferdinand finally spoke to United´s club doctor Mike Stone more than an hour and a half after leaving the training ground and immediately rang the FA.
Before that he had sent a text to Patrick O´Reilly of the Highfield Medical Association in Stockport, who had been treating him for a kidney infection.
