Blues eye £30m Joaquin bid

Spanish side Real Betis have hinted that Joaquin could join Chelsea as early as January.

On Thursday morning the Spain winger, also a target for Real Madrid, admitted he was interested in joining the Premiership leaders.

And later in the day Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera told Marca the deal could go through as early as next month´s transfer window.

Reports in Spain suggest Chelsea have made an official bid for 43million euros ( around £29m).

Ruiz de Lopera did guarantee that Joaquin will play in Sunday´s Seville derby against Sevilla and against Atletico Madrid.

But after that it looks like Joaquin could be heading for London to add more quality to Chelsea´s all-star squad.

La Fédération Anglaise de Football a condamné Arsène Wenger à 15 000 livres d’amende pour mauvais comportement après la rencontre perdue face à Manchester United le 24 octobre dernier.

La Fédération Anglaise de Football a communiqué jeudi la sanction reçue par Arsène Wenger, « condamné à verser une amende de 15 000 livres, sévèrement réprimandé et averti pour son comportement futur. »

L’entraîneur d’Arsenal avait accusé l’attaquant de Manchester United, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, de tricherie à l’issue de la rencontre.

Manchester United will send Ruud van Nistelrooy for a scan on the calf problem that continues to sideline him.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gabriel Heinze have been given a break by Sir Alex Ferguson while Darren Fletcher and John O´Shea return to the squad.

Agent Bruno Satin believes Manchester United will not be bidding for Espanyol keeper Carlos Kameni in 2005.

Although admitting goalkeeping coach Tony Coton has been following the Cameroon international´s progress, Satin feels Sir Alex Ferguson will look elsewhere if he decides to move for another shot-stopper next year.

Current first choice Roy Carroll is out of contract in the summer and Tim Howard has fallen from grace after earning a place in the PFA Team of the Year last term.

However, Satin, who is reportedly working on United´s behalf, has echoed Ferguson´s sentiments that there is no drastic need to introduce a new keeper to the squad.

" The idea of Manchester now is to not sign a goalkeeper," Satin told Sport. " Ferguson has not decided but evidently the market is controlled to be prepared for January or the summer.

" There are two good goalkeepers at the club and we will have to see what happens.

" Kameni is a good keeper and we already knew of him before. They have seen him this season - goalkeeping coach Tony Coton was at Montjuic - but I do not believe that he will be the chosen one.

" Espanyol can relax because the idea would be to bring in someone with more experience than him."

Satin went on to explain that he feels Kameni´s height could be disadvantage in The Premiership, and that the African could have been signed on a free transfer before heading for Espanyol, making him a less attractive option at his buy-out clause of €6 million.

However, the agent stressed The Red Devils will continue to monitor Kameni´s progress as the season develops.

Although Sir Alex Ferguson has denied looking for a new goalkeeper he has been linked with a number of players both in England and abroad and with doubts over Roy Carroll’s future may look to bring someone in in the New Year.

20-year-old Kameni is highly rated in Spain where he has helped Espanyol to second place in La Liga, ahead of Real Madrid and champions Valencia.

The Cameroonian has a buy out clause in his current deal of only 6 million Euros while United may also offer reserve goalkeeper Ricardo as part of any deal.

Ca serait peut-être pas mal, moi je proposerait même Djemba + Ricardo + qq millions contre Kameni ^^
