Pas joué terriblement bien, Giggs a était trés bien, tjr le meilleur. Rooney décevant, et Smith il a tirer sur la barre a moins de 4m des cages sans le gardien.

Aimar veut quitter Valence

A suivre.

:d) Emotions get better of Heinze
Stuart Mathieson
GABRIEL Heinze does not consider himself emotional - but has confessed that Manchester United´s fans have warmed his heart.

The South American tough guy admits the Reds´ support chanting " Argentina" at Old Trafford got to him, and now he wants to repay them.

The £6.9m left back told the fanzine United We Stand: " Can you imagine how I felt as an Argentinian playing in Manchester and hearing the fans singing the name of my country? It´s special.

" I´m not an over the top, emotional guy, but it really touched me. I´m just trying my best to repay the fans by giving everything for my team."

Some fans questioned Heinze´s loyalty when he arrived in Manchester three months after his June signing due to international commitments.

He explained that his delayed start at Old Trafford was a joint decision taken by the Argentine FA and United.

However, he was quickly able to dispel any fears that he was not fully in tune with the United cause, and became a cult hero after scoring on his Premiership debut at Bolton in September.

The modest 26-year-old, who has kept John O´Shea on the fringes of the team with his performances, said: " It´s very nice that the fans are praising me and picking me out, but the team ethic is what matters to me."

His runs upfield fired up supporters missing United´s traditional attacking tactics earlier in the season.

He said: " I do like to join the attack from time to time. I´m not there to make the difference in attacking situations, but if I can, I will."

But it is his tough tackling that has won most admirers.

" English football is played at a very high tempo and is a lot faster than any league that I know," he said.

" The defenders have to be hard, because the attacks can be very intense."

Heinze´s efforts were praised by manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who hailed his form as " an eye-opener" and gave him a short festive break back home with his family in Argentina.

Heinze is expected to return in time for the Boxing Day derby with Bolton and he will be straight into battling for the title.

" We´ll do our best to make sure that we win it," he vowed.

Rooney fit for Boro

Manchester United expect Wayne Rooney to be fit for the New Year´s Day trip to Middlesbrough.

Rooney suffered a thigh injury during Tuesday´s 1-0 victory at Aston Villa which forced the teenager off in the second half.

The striker was hurt during a clash with Liam Ridgewell and required extensive treatment on his thigh, which suffered a gash.

But United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has reported that his bruising forward´s injury is not serious and that he should be able to face Boro, live on Sky Sports 1.

" Wayne took a knock on the thigh but he should be fine for Saturday," Ferguson told MUTV.

Rooney´s participation at The Riverside, though, could hinge on whether The Football Association punish the England international for his altercation with Tal Ben Haim.

During Boxing Day´s 2-0 triumph over Bolton, Rooney pushed the Israeli defender in the face towards the close of the first half.

Referee Dermot Gallagher did not spot the incident but The FA are expected to examine video footage on Wednesday.

If The FA decide there is a case to answer, Rooney could be charged with violent conduct and face a three-game suspension which, if taken immediately, may start at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Rooney and Ben Haim charged

The Football Association have charged Wayne Rooney and Tal Ben Haim following their clash at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.

Manchester United ace Rooney pushed Bolton Wanderers defender Ben Haim in the face towards the end of the first half.

Rooney escaped censure from referee Dermot Gallagher but, after reviewing video evidence, The FA have charged the England international with violent conduct.

Ben Haim has been charged with improper conduct by The FA, seemingly in response to his theatrical reaction to Rooney´s shove.

An FA statement outlined the charges to both players, with Rooney due to have his case heard this week and he could face a possible three-game suspension starting on New Year´s Day against Middlesbrough.

" Manchester United´s Wayne Rooney has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for violent conduct," read a statement on The FA´s official website.

" In addition, Bolton Wanderers defender Tal Ben Haim has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 for improper conduct.

" The charges relate to an incident involving the two players during the match at Old Trafford on Sunday 26 December.

" In line with The FA´s new Fast Track disciplinary system, Wayne Rooney is required to respond to the charge by 6pm on Thursday 30 December.

" If he accepts the charge, the automatic penalty is a three-match suspension. If he denies the charge, the case will be heard at a Disciplinary Commission on Friday 31 December.

" Tal Ben Haim has until 20 January to respond to the charge. The Fast Track disciplinary system does not apply to this case."

Manchester United

Chief executive David Gill is adamant there will be no transfer business, even if Ruud van Nistelrooy´s achilles injury threatens to keep him out for most of what is left of the season. There is money available, as always, but the board want to offload some of Sir Alex Ferguson´s fringe players before following up their interest in the likes of Bayern Munich´s England international Owen Hargreaves and Bolton´s goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen. Do not expect anything until the summer.

Fergie bemused by rules

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has described the Football Association´s disciplinary system as " immoral".

The United boss is fuming with the decision to charge Wayne Rooney with violent conduct after the youngster shoved his hand into Bolton Wanderers defender Tal Ben Haim´s face on Boxing Day.

After the game, Ferguson was more concerned with the Israeli´s theatrical response rather than his young striker´s misdemeanour.

Yet The FA have taken a dim view of the incident and Ferguson concedes he is in a no-win situation so it seems pointless to appeal.

" The violent conduct charge bemuses me because every man and his dog would agree it was not violent conduct," complained Ferguson.

" If it is violent conduct, why are they charging Ben Haim? I can´t understand it.

" He is being charged so they, therefore, believe he is guilty of diving and bringing the game into disrepute.

" It was no more than a push in the face; there was no swing of the arm or anything like that.

" The system is completely flawed. The problem for us now is we can´t really appeal because we are not allowed to be represented. It is a closed section.

" So, therefore, they are telling you: ´Don´t bother appealing, you are not going to win anyway´. As we are approaching 2005, that seems to be unfair and immoral."

Ferguson feels United are an obvious target for the authorities due to the hype and focus on their games. Ruud van Nistelrooy was suspended for three games earlier this term for his initially unpunished challenge on Ashley Cole.

With van Nistelrooy and Louis Saha injured, the likely loss of Rooney is a major blow ahead of the tough trip to Middlesbrough on New Year´s Day.

The former Everton starlet is also expected to miss the home game with Tottenham and FA Cup tie with Exeter City.
