Reds Denounce Media Claims
We are responding to certain recent articles which have appeared in the media alleging that Manchester United Football Club had approached young foreign players in France and Brazil, some as young as 7 years of age.
These stories do not have an element of truth and sadly no attempt was made to contact Manchester United to verify the accuracy of the claims.
Please be assured that we treat these matters extremely seriously and we have registered our complaints accordingly.
These reports do serious damage to both the reputation of the Club and the credibility of our scouts in these countries and we are seeking to redress the balance.
Manchester United always conducts itself in a right and proper manner and we will take necessary steps to protect the name and integrity of the Club.

Irish ´yes´ to Glazer
Manchester United´s biggest shareholders, Irish racing tycoons John Magnier and JP McManus, ARE prepared to accept the £800million takeover bid from Malcolm Glazer. But the pair, who own 28.9 per cent of United, are waiting first for the board to recommend the offer is accepted.

Glazer deal close
Malcolm Glazer is on the verge of his £800m takeover of Manchester United - with militant fans threatening weeks of mayhem in protest. The American wants an answer from the United board over his takeover proposals. And once he gets the green light, he has a team of advisors and lawyers ready to go over the books and complete the deal inside two weeks.

NO UNITED OFFER FOR IKER
The agent of Iker Casillas insists Manchester United have not made a formal offer for the Real Madrid goalkeeper, but admits the Premiership giants are interested in the Spanish number one.
Casillas has recently expressed his desire to extend his contract at Real, which expires in June 2006.
Despite this, reports in both England and Spain continue to suggest that United are weighing up a multi-million pound bid to try and prise the 24-year-old from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Sir Alex Ferguson is on the look-out for a new goalkeeper with neither Roy Carroll nor Tim Howard having done enough to convince as the long-term solution for the role.
Casillas is rated as one of Europe´s finest and already has a wealth of top-level experience despite his tender years having broken into Real´s first-team at the age of just 17.
However, his representative Gines Carvajal claims he has received no approach from Old Trafford, but is convinced The Red Devils do hold a long-standing interest in his client.
" I only know what has been published in newspapers, but they are just rumours," he told skysports.com.
" The interest of United is always a certain story every season."
The prospect of Casillas moving from Real appears highly unlikely given his recent assertion that he wanted to remain with the Primera titans for as long as they wanted him.
Real seem equally certain they want him to stay, and director of sport Emilio Butragueno has intimated that he intends to open contract talks within the next few weeks.
United´s fan turn up heat
Militant Manchester United fans have declared all-out war on Malcolm Glazer on the eve of his £800million bid for the club. A group calling themselves the ´Balaclavas´ and ´Manchester Education Committee´ threatened chief executive David Gill, the United board and the Glazer family if the club decide to back the bid. They warned acquiescence would be regarded as ´an act of treachery that would place board members in an extremely vulnerable position for years to come.´

Fergie Backs Ole To Return
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told by Sir Alex Ferguson that he can play again for Manchester United.
Solskjaer has set a target to return next season after being ruled out for the entirety of the current campaign after undergoing a second operation on his anterior knee ligament injury last summer.
" We are all hoping he can make a comeback," said Sir Alex.
" I think he will have a chance because he is determined enough to do it. He´s a superb human being, a fantastic man," the Reds boss added.
The 31-year-old hasn´t played since coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup final against Millwall in May 2004.
Solskjaer remains agonisingly on 199 starts for United. A meeting this month with the specialist who operated on the Norwegian striker could decide whether Ole starts running in training.
His remedial training has so far included swimming, gym work and cycling; adding running to his daily programme would be a significant shift towards completing a second century of starts for the club.
Bellion won´t quit
David Bellion never thought of leaving Manchester United during the January transfer window despite his lack of first team football.
The French striker has failed to sparkle since his move from Sunderland, finding his first team chances severely limited at Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old has started just eight matches this term, and is way down the pecking order behind Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Alan Smith and Louis Saha.
Bellion insists, however, that he did not contemplate leaving the club to go out on loan during the transfer window.
" I never thought about leaving," Bellion told MUTV.
" I trust the manager to be honest when he tells me what he thinks, good or bad. If I have to go somewhere on loan, that would be his decision but I have never been worried about it.
" When you are young, you want to play all the time. You wish you could play six, seven or eight games in a row.
" It is a frustrating situation but one day, when you do not expect it, you might be playing. Then you have to be ready for it."
Bellion is determined to prove himself to Sir Alex Ferguson, even though he knows it may take some time.
" New players coming to this club adapt at different speeds," he said.
" Some do it quickly, others take more time. But I will get there eventually. I am confident of that."
Theatre Of Screams
Manchester United fans laid siege to Old Trafford last night as Malcolm Glazer’s latest takeover bid approached D-day. More than 500 supporters turned up at the ground to protest against the American’s controversial £800million move. Demonstrations took a sick twist when furious fans hung a Guy Fawkes-style effigy of Glazer from a lamp-post opposite the statue of Sir Matt Busby. Fans then unfurled a banner with the message: " Warning! Using MUFC may result in serious damage to your health!"

Utd Will Open Up
Manchester United chiefs are almost certain to let Malcolm Glazer study the club books in detail. Board members are due to meet today to consider the US tycoon’s £800million takeover approach. But they will gather against a backdrop of fury from supporters. Around 500 fans laid siege to Old Trafford yesterday in protest at Glazer’s bid.
