Fletcher eyes Italy clash
Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher refuses to give up hope of being fit for Scotland´s clash with Italy next month.
The 21-year-old schemer damaged his knee in Sunday´s derby success over Manchester City, with early diagnosis indicating an eight week injury lay-off.
However, with further tests scheduled, Fletcher is determined to remain in a positive frame of mind with regards to Scotland´s forthcoming World Cup qualifier.
A trip to Milan on March 26 will mark Walter Smith´s bow as an international manager, in a tough clash Fletcher remains determined to make.
´´At the moment it is too difficult to say how long I´m going to be out for,´´ Fletcher told the Scottish Sun.
´´The Italy game is obviously one I don´t want to miss but I will just have to wait and see what shows up on the scan.
´´I don´t want to say I am definitely out or definitely going to be okay.
´´It is too hard to tell just now.´´
