Remonte petit topic ^^
up ^^
Tiens, Downing a marqué pour Borough ce soir ^^
c´est vrai ca pourquoi il ne joue jamais ? ??
pourquoi il est venu miller c´etait bien pour jouer non ? ?
de tout de facon on va battre arsenal . .
van vommel pourrait etre vendu a 5 millions en juin . .
mais pas sur que fergie soit interessé
Man Utd linked with sensational move for Newcastle´s Dyer
tribalfootball.com - October 21, 2004
Manchester United are being linked with a sensational move for Newcastle midfielder Kieron Dyer.
The Independent says Dyer is confident he will secure a move away from St James´ Park in the New Year, though United have not made an official approach as yet.
England ace Dyer has fallen out with Magpies fans after refusing to play on the right-side of midfield earlier this season while Sir Bobby Robson was in charge.
Toldo set for Reds move?
ITALY´S Francesco Toldo is the latest ´keeper to be linked with a move to Manchester United.
With current Reds number one Roy Carroll out of contract in the summer and Tim Howard currently in the shadow squad, United are being linked with goalkeepers left, right and centre.
Earlier this week Espanyol´s Carlos Kameni was linked with a January switch to Old Trafford and now Inter Milan´s Toldo is rumoured by Channel 4´s Football Italia to be ready for a New Year move, with United or Parma his likely destination.
United certainly could do a lot worse than Toldo who has only been prevented from cementing the number one jersey for Italy by having arguably the world´s finest ´keeper Gianluigi Buffon blocking his path.
But whether at 33, Sir Alex Ferguson would consider Toldo as the long-term solution to his goalkeeping problem is a moot point, especially as Toldo has also recently been displaced as Inter´s number one.
It´s Gunner get ugly
Gabriel Heinze has revealed how Arsenal’s unbeaten run is making Manchester United more determined than ever to give Arsene Wenger a bloody nose. Arsenal are already 11 points clear of United and can obliterate United’s title hopes by winning this weekend. But Heinze, 26, said: “We’re going to do everything we can to stop Arsenal’s record. Records are there to be broken and it’s an extra boost to know that we are the ones who can do it. The aim is to win whatever the cost. If we can do it playing fantastic football, great, but if not it will be with fight and spirit. We simply have to give it everything."

Rio: We can´t fail to score
Rio Ferdinand insists that Manchester United’s shot-shy frontmen are poised to come good. United boast a four-man strike team of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney, Louis Saha and Alan Smith, which ought to be the envy of any club in Europe. But Alex Ferguson’s men have managed just nine goals in as many Premiership games this season. The England centre-back said: “There’s no doubt in my mind it will come good. When you look at the players we’ve got out there, it’s phenomenal. To even think we wouldn’t score is hard to believe. There is no question that they can do it."

Pat back to face United
Patrick Vieira is almost certain to lead Arsenal in Sunday’s Old Trafford grudge match against Manchester United. The Gunners skipper looked out of the clash after suffering an ankle injury in a tackle with Jlloyd Samuel during last Saturday’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa. Boss Arsene Wenger said Vieira only had a 20-80 chance of facing United, but the player has responded to intensive treatment and is now rated fit, barring a late setback.

Carroll: I´m not afraid of Henry
Roy Carroll has vowed to become the first goalkeeper to shut out Arsenal this season when they meet Manchester United in Sunday´s Old Trafford showdown. Arsene Wenger´s side have scored in every one of their 12 matches so far this season and notched an incredible 33 goals along the way to continue their remarkable run. But United keeper Carroll said: " The way we´re defending at the moment, there´s no reason we can´t keep a clean sheet. We don´t care how many goals Arsenal have scored. At least we´re not conceding many goals right now, which gives the team a lot of confidence. And I´ve been really happy with my own form since I came into the team."

O´Shea´s space case
Manchester United have warned Thierry Henry he will not get an inch of space at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Footballer of the Year fired Arsenal to title glory last season. And he is bang in form again after scoring in the Gunners’ draw with Panathinaikos on Wednesday night. But United star John O’Shea says he is in for a torrid ride in the big showdown and that United will not give him room to breathe. O’Shea said: “Henry in the last couple of seasons has been one of the world’s best. At United, we try to stay tight to him as the lads we have at the back are fairly quick."

Fans to carry on fighting
United fans have vowed to continue their fight against a takeover by Malcolm Glazer following talks with City financier Keith Harris. American tycoon Glazer took his stake in the Red Devils past the 28 per cent mark in recent days. But Shareholders United spokesman Oliver Houston said: “We decided to meet Keith to see if there are any ways he may be able to assist moves to block Glazer’s takeover attempt.”

Five Star Reds Thump Liverpool
United Reserves 5
Liverpool Reserves 2
Birthday boy Kieran Richardson crowned a fantastic performance for the Reserves with two goals in their 5-2 victory over Liverpool at Moss Lane.
The United skipper, who turned 20 today, opened the scoring 20 minutes in with a fierce drive from the edge of the area having cut in from the left-hand side.
His second followed nine minutes later thanks to another powerful shot into the bottom corner. That put United 3-1 ahead after Neil Mellor’s reply for the visitors three minutes earlier.
Sandwiched in between Richardson’s brace was yet another goal from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake who bundled the ball home following good work from Phil Picken down the right.
The second half began as the first had finished with United on top. Three minutes after the restart Ricky Sbragia´s went 4-1 up through an unstoppable Chris Eagles free-kick on the left edge of the box which crashed in off the underside of the cross-bar.
Liverpool pulled a goal back on 73 minutes through a Mellor penalty after he was brought down by Heaton in the area.
But it was left to substitute Colin Heath to wrap up the victory for United a minute from time with a 20-yard shot which was fumbled by Liverpool keeper Patrice Luzi.
All in all it was a successful night for United with Darren Fletcher also enjoying a useful run-out in midfield.
The win leaves the Reds fourth in the table on 14 points, seven adrift from leaders Manchester City.
United XI: Heaton ( GK), Picken, Lawrence, Pique, Spector, Fletcher, Eagles ( Heath, 76), Jones, Ebanks-Blake, Rossi, Richardson ( Poole, 76).
Fergie not forgetting Howard
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has publicly backed Tim Howard despite ignoring him in favour of Roy Carroll in recent weeks.
The American custodian has not tasted first-team action since being dropped after the UEFA Champions League game with Lyon a month ago.
Howard made a costly error in that game after gifting the French side their opening goal with a fumble from a free-kick.
It was a mistake that has cost him his place in United´s first-team, and Ferguson insists Carroll will now continue for the foreseeable future.
" He ( Carroll) will stay in the team as long as his performances warrant it," the Scot stated.
" I won´t be looking to change things. It´s Roy´s turn now."
However, Fergsuon is adamant that Howard´s career at Old Trafford is far from over, and is looking to help the 25-year-old through his troubled patch.
" Every young keeper hits those little spells that he´s been through.
" He had one last year as well.
" What we want to do is get him through this period."
Meanwhile, Carroll believes that he can keep a clean sheet against Arsenal on Sunday, and pinpointed the return of Rio Ferdinand as a crucial factor in United´s recent defensive form.
" We don´t care how many goals Arsenal have scored this season, we will just concentrate on our own game," the Northern Ireland international declared.
" The way we are defending at the moment there is no reason why we can´t keep a clean sheet.
" Rio has been fantastic since he´s been back in the side and the whole defence has been doing well.
" We may not be scoring too many at the moment, but at least we are not conceding goals.
" And with the strikers we have got, we know the goals will come at the other end.
" Hopefully we can get it sorted out on Sunday because it´s a huge game for us.
" It´s a huge game for us. Draws are not enough for us now, we´ve got to win every game."
