D'après The Daily Dot, Netflix aurait distribué les 13 épisodes.
« Netflix released all 13 episodes to critics, and despite strong performances from Bernthal, Walcott and Moss-Bachrach (Micro), it was a slog to reach the end. I found myself thinking back to Person of Interest, which did a better job with similar material. Its main characters were an ex-CIA vigilante and his hacker partner, battling shadowy enemies in the military-industrial complex. Even in the framework of a formulaic CBS crime show, it was more satisfying than Marvel’s attempt at serious long-form drama. »

Idem pour Indie Wire : « Much of this season is focused on not just Frank’s return to civilian life, but his fellow soldiers struggling to find their place in the world, which is intriguing material, but suffers from being drawn out to the degree required when your TV show is set for 13 episodes a season. This is a common complaint about the Netflix/Marvel series, but feels especially true here — “Punisher” could have been a fantastic six-episode season. The extra seven feel excessive. »
