Ca fait bosser mon anglais, donc je suis toujours preneur
(j'avoue, j'avais un peu commencé pour la forme
)
J'ai pas mal changé la syntaxe, mais le fond est le même, pas de panique
(j'ai pas noté les crédits à la fin, rajoute ce que tu veux, mais effectivement, vaut ptet mieux éviter les liens)
Suggestions and Ideas for the Live service of the game
Hello there!
So, I created this thread after doing some brainstorming with a part of the French community, where we discussed some possible solutions for content, that wouldn't take too much time of development, and possibly please most of the community.
Please consider that those are just simple ideas we thought about, and not "demands". We wish for the game to have as many content as possible, while still considering the work the devs have to put on it daily.
I also hope that the conversation can remain civil and avoid statements such has "the game is dead" to favorize discussions. Don't hesitate to share your own ideas, or discuss ours!
1/ Game modes
So far, the team gave us 6 new modes, 5 already available (Hero showdown, Extraction, Jetpack Cargo, Ewok Hunter and Hero Starfighters) and one in progress (the large-scale one that people sincerely hope is Conquest). Some of those modes were sort of "tests" to see what players enjoy, and then proceeded to come in the game.
But in the end, this could be a real problem, or even a waste of time, even though they are well made. I mean, sure, we have a lot of modes, but the amount of maps remains the same, ending in a divided community ingame. I know that a lot of people I spoke with, and from what I read here, that we would enjoy less modes on more maps. What's the point of having that many modes, when some of them barely have a couple of maps, and the others ones were just plainly forgotten for months?
We sincerely hope that, when the "Conquest-like" mode comes out, attention to the game will go mainly on the quality and diversity of the existing modes, instead of constantly adding new ones.
Those we have now have a lot of potential, so let's hope that the focus will be on them. The "Hunt" concept in itself is a gold mine.
2/ The Maps.
This year gave us 4 maps, 6 if you count the Last Jedi package. All of those maps were simply reduced to the little modes, leaving the two main ones, GA and SA, completely in the dark. Since those are the most difficult to create, I can understand that they don't come out often, but in the end, when the game struggles that much to have "main" maps, it's hard to think we'll ever get more "secondary" ones, like Felucia, Jedha..., especially in those big modes.
Considering that, and it links with the previous part, why not make more planets, but exclusive to those smaller modes, just like Kessel. The game needs diversity right now, but maps are the main focus, and creating small variations could be easier than the bigger ones.
The game also has a few locations in its campaign, that could be used with fewer efforts. Of course it would need tweaks here and there, but maps like Vardos, Bespin's sky, and others already exist, so modifying them might not be the hardest part.
Of course, maps from the 2015 game are welcome, as long as they don't take the place of something a bit more "fresh".
3/ The "Jedi Hero"
What would that be? It would be some kind of hero class, but with very basic attacks (force push, saber throw), maybe even some "Enforcer +" kind of class. This Hero would serve as a "model" for all the legendary skins that will never be in the game, for the characters are just too secondary. Even though we all would love to see secondary characters like Ki-Adi-Mundi or Plo Koon, we know those will never be the priority, so this "Hero" could just be an easy way to make skins without spending too much time on Hero building.
And trust me, people WILL pay for those skins. I know a lot of people will think that this kind of placeholder is not a solution, but we highly think that it can be beneficial to the game. We all know those heroes are not coming anytime soon or ever, so why not abuse this opportunity?
I imagine there will always be a "licence" issue with creating skins, but this is an idea that is worth considering in my opinion.
Of course, there's also the possibility that each and everyone of those skins could have a special ability, but that would, of course, demand more time in developement, which is not the idea behind this.
There's also a possibility of making it a simple "CQC" reinforcement, opening for some more diversity in each faction, like Magna-guards, Imperial Guards, First Order guards, etc, but then again, it would require more work. And I'm pretty sure people would really want a dedicated reinfocement slot for some of these units.
4/ The Weapons
Each weapon, of each faction, of each class, should feel unique in its own way, because right now, it's not about "that weapon is better in that situation but not this one", it's just "that weapon's the best, period". The game has beautiful weapons, with beautiful sound design, and great work from the developers.... and most of it goes to waste, because we can obviously see which ones are better for each class.
There could be a way to improve that.
Also, it's sad to see that some of the weapons from the campaign simply do not exist in multiplayer, like the T-21. Would be cool to add them, don't you think? (if some of them are too powerful, they can be abilities)
5/ The Skins
It as been said again and again, and we all know you heard, so I'll keep it short. Skins are vitals to the game. They will make money, and they will make players happy. Just not at the rate we're getting them. Some of them are pretty basic too, so it's not like making a Hooded Maul will delay Geonosis by a month.
But they need to happen, because right now it's almost one of the only thing players are waiting since the roadmap.
So there we go, hope you'll share your own ideas and discuss ours !
