The newly developed graphics engine will take DMC to a new level with incredible graphics effects, like realistic lighting, rippling water, and realistic effects such as flames and light reflected unto Dante´s coat.
The game probably won´t have progressive scan.
The game is running off of two graphic engine sets. Because the combat mechanics are so daunting, the graphics have taken serious hits to support all the special effects and move animations stored. Therefore, the environments and locales with no combat have had extra juice pumped into them ( complex lighting, weather effects, separate 3D object shadow rendering, bump mapping etc.
DMC3 just like RE4 and MGS3 and NG, features a fully 360 degree rotatable camera.
The development team of DMC3 is a comprisal of the elite of the developers from DMC1&2
The action and cutscene director of DMC3 is the action director of the japanese cult action hit movie Versus.
DMC3 has been in development since before DMC2 was released in Japan, and the Japanese version is now at the publisher and will arrive in Mid-February, with the US and EU versions arriving shortly after.
Known actor Dave Wittenburg is the voice actor for Dante.
The 20 time gold medal winner, martial artist Stephanie Cheeva is the motion actor for Lady.
There are almost no CGI used in cutscenes, most will use in-game graphics.
DMC3 will contain more enemies than in the previous games.
DMC3 will contain more bosses than in the previous games.
A large part of the game will take place in the huge tower entered at the end of mission 2.
DMC3 will explain Dante´s story before DMC1 but the last missions will be at the end of DMC2.
DMC3 is the last game in the trilogy.
DMC3 will explain Dante´s origins as a Devil Hunter and will go deeper into his rivalry with his brother Vergil, but that is not the main focus of the story, the story of DMC3 is more than what meets the eye, it will also explain what happened to Sparda after he escaped from the demon world and what happened to him after Dante and Vergil was born, also many of Sparda´s old enemies will feature in the game, they want revenge and Dante must face them, Nevan is just one of them. One speculation is that Dante will face Satan, The Devil himself.
There are five difficulty modes in DMC3, 1 new; Easy, Normal, Hard, Dante Must Die(DMD), and one ultimate difficulty, so far known as Dante Will Die(DWD) or Adonai Is Dead(AID).
Enemies have better AI this time around and are more
difficult and has more attacks.
Enemies have elemental properties and you can " sword block" in DMC3 as you could in DMC1 ( Dante vs. Nelo Angelo fights)
The Easy mode of DMC3 is said to be just as hard as the normal mode of DMC1(which is hard!!).
It is said that in the final difficulty of the game, there is an insane secret which is totally incredible, what it is remains to be seen.
At the start of each mission 4 weapons can be chosen, 2 melee and 2 fire arms, and be assigned to two buttons to be able to switch instantly between weapons during combat.
Dante can be costumised during play by choosing one of the 4 styles, available from the start.
Each style is upgraded by style points gained at the end of missions from stylish play.
