Thibault accepts Hawks´ qualifying offer
Goaltender Jocelyn Thibault has informed the Chicago Blackhawks that he has accepted the club´s $3.3 million US qualifying offer for the 2004-05 season.
Thibault opted for the one-year deal rather than go to arbitration.
Thibault, 29, battled injuries almost all of last season and played in just 14 games with the Hawks. He posted a 5-7-2 record, a 2.85 goals-against average and a . 913 save percentage.
Thibault has played in 536 NHL games with the Quebec Nordiques, Montreal Canadiens and Blackhawks, registering a 227-217-68 record, 2.69 goals-against average and a . 905 save percentage.
Drafted by Quebec in the 1st round, 10th overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft, Thibault was traded to the Canadiens in 1995 in a package for Patrick Roy. He was later to the Blackhawks in 1998 in a deal for Jeff Hackett.
