Kingdom Hearts TV Show Confirmed Already In Production
Recently I had a chance to talk with Kevin Faubert a cosplayer of two years who had done one other costume ( Auron from FFX) before donning the dark and twisted bodysuit of Riku from Kingdom Hearts. I got to talk to him about the night of Gphoria, where he and his fellow Cosplay Group ´The Light Warriors´ had been asked to perform their award winning skit " Sora´s Journey" as a tribute to Kingdom Hearts winning the award for Best Story. The skit they had written themselves had won them ´Best of Show: Presentation´ at AnimeExpo 2003 earlier that year. Needless to say after performing the skit on stage, the after party was something they all couldn´t afford to miss. The Light Warriors headed atop the roof of the Henry Fonda Music Box Theatre, where unbeknownst to them there would be waiting incredibly interesting interactions with some of the Gaming Industries greatest resources. Unfortunately, due to the nature of information that Kevin was about to receive, the name of one of the sources can not be revealed, out of respect of course.

Target: So tell me what happened after you got to the Afterparty?
Kevin: I was up on the roof of the building where Gphoira was being held and after briefly meeting Nomura I spotted someone I recognized sitting on one of the couches up there and made my way over to them ( we had met before backstage preceding going up and doing our Kingdom Hearts Skit) I said hey and asked if they were excited about Kingdom Hearts II and if Square had asked them back to work on the sequel. They said that they hadn´t heard about KH II yet, but right now they were busy doing Voice Over work for the Kingdom Hearts TV series.
I was like Whoa! ( I mean I had heard rumors about there being a show but this was like a really important person telling me they were working on it, doesn´t get more legit than that.) So I asked them how that was going and they told me it was going great that they really liked their character and that it’s a lot of fun. At that point regrettably they were pulled away to talk to some important people. Soon after they were done I made my way over to get my picture taken with them holding the Art Book opened to their character. They were very flattered! I had them sign the page and took a picture of them signing it.
Target: Why have you chosen to protect this person’s anonymity?
Kevin: Well I feel that although the information I possess is indeed of great significance to the Kingdom Hearts Community, the person who revealed this information to me does not need to be named. This source is real, the information they are revealing is legitimate... Would a name make that much of a difference? In other words, if the person wishes to stay in the shadows and not be in the spotlight at the current time due to the nature of the information being provided then I feel it is fine for them to stay in the shadows.
Target: What happened after that experience?
Kevin: Well, I went back with the gang who then headed over to Nomura. He had many people surrounding him, one such person was his lovely translator that helped answer all of our questions fielded to Nomura. With the whole Kingdom Heart gang around Nomura, it was inevitable that a Kingdom Hearts question would be asked. The one that did came from the Ansem in our group and he asked,
“Will Ansem be returning with a role in Kingdom Hearts II?”
Nomura answered with a slight smile.
“You can ask me, but I can´t answer that at this time, sorry.”
