"We're really excited for our next look at Too Human. As it stands, the studio impressed us with Too Human's RPG elements, gorgeous levels and characters, and incredibly ambitious attempt to make a hack 'n slash RPG with mass appeal. Silicon Knights has plenty of time to get the rough spots polished and perfect, especially in light of its history of high-quality third-person titles."

"If there's one thing that our time with Too Human gave us, it was a desire to see more of the game. The RPG mechanics are solid, even if the combat isn't quite all there yet. Everything is still in the works, which makes this game so intriguing. We can give the combat a pass for now as it isn't quite finished and may evolve drastically as the game progresses to become more in-depth. We saw only an hour of the game and reached level seven with just a few skills and a fraction of the story revealed to us. And it still was a bit overwhelming. The later level content sounds great, especially since the game is designed to be played through multiple times with friends as the enemy placement and loot drops change each time. Don't count Too Human out yet. You might be sorry you did."

"But we're confident in many things as well. Too Human is the best example we've seen to date of a game that doesn't pick sides between the action and RPG camps, it's a lot of fun to play, and it will probably impress a lot of people who have written it off.
It's hard to get too excited about a game that has been through so much, mostly for fear of disappointment. But if we had gone into last week's demo without knowing any of that, without being aware that there had been any problems, and without caring about the Internet drama that has consumed the whole situation, it's hard to imagine not being impressed. The game looks good, controls well, has at least a few good cut-scenes (we only saw a few), and is very ambitious.
The play style may not be for everyone, given that the combat is more involved than a typical RPG and less involved than a typical action game, but if you go into it as in informed customer -- and given that there will be a demo available before release, there's no reason not to -- there looks to be a lot to like here."
