Reviens reviens pas... John Carpenter se fait attendre et désirer... Entre "Riot" et "The prince" prévu pour 2010 et le projet passé la trappe (semble-t-il) de "L.A Gothic", voilà que Big John annonce un thriller psychologique baptisé "The Ward". Dans ce film, Amber Heard jouera le rôle d'une jeune femme internée dans un asile, qui sera terrorisée par un fantôme.

Je vous conseille le doc "Big John" passé sur Cinécinéma, un vrai hommage à ce grand réal sous-estimé et un peu maudit.

Carpenter n'est pas sous-estimé ! Certes, des fois quand je parle de "Fog" avec un pote on passe pour des geeks, mais quand même il est assez largement connu et respecté.

Enfin il se remet à la réal. Par contre je pensais pas que The Ward serait le premier projet filmé, on attend aussi avec impatience The Prince. Le plot de Riot est génial, Cage + Carpenter c'est assez improbable, j'ai hâte...

The Thing reste son œuvre la plus aboutit pour ma part.

Danielle Panabaker will star opposite Amber Heard in "The Ward," a psychological horror thriller that John Carpenter is directing for Echo Lake Entertainment and A Bigger Boat.

The story follows a girl (Heard) who is admitted to a psychiatric ward, meets other girls there with distinct personalities and discovers a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night.

Panabaker plays a patient in the institution, a snobbish girl who flirts with orderlies and faces electroshock therapy.

Mamie Gummer ("Taking Woodstock") also has been cast as a patient.

Michael and Shawn Rasmussen wrote the script, with revisions by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller.

Doug Mankoff, Peter Block, Mike Marcus and Andrew Spaulding are producing. Principal photography is scheduled to begin next month in Spokane, Wash.

FilmNation is handling international sales for the film.

Panabaker, repped by UTA and Management 360, most recently starred in the hit remake "Friday the 13th." She recently wrapped production on Overture's "The Crazies" and is in production on the indie drama "Weakness."

Grosso modo, pour les non anglophone (quoique ce devrait être un truc genre anglolitteraires), Danielle Panabaker (le remake de "vendredi 13" et prochainement dans celui de "the crazies") fera face à Amber Heard, dont le personnage sera interné en HP pour femmes, et croisera des personnages aux personnalités multiples, ainsi qu'une patiente qui hante les couloirs la nuit. Panabaker quant à elle sera une patiente notamment traitée par electrochocs.
