"Albert and Allen Hughes are coming aboard to direct "The Book of Eli," a postapocalyptic Western written by Gary Whitta for Warner Bros. Pictures. Joel Silver is producing with Silver Pictures´ Susan Downey and Erik Olsen.

The script, which Warners bought earlier this year, centers on a lone hero who must fight his way across the wasteland of postapocalyptic America to protect a sacred book that might hold the key to saving the future of humanity.

Ironically, it was a book that was the key for the Hughes brothers getting the job to helm the feature. The duo had read the script, agreeing that it had been the best thing they had read in years, and knew they wanted it to be their next project. Using their own funds, they produced a hardcover tome that featured notes, comic panels, color photos and storyboards on how they envisioned the movie.

During a meeting with Warners production head Jeff Robinov, the duo dropped the book on his desk, saying, "This is what we want do to." That led to a sit-down with Silver Pictures, who loved the brothers´ take as well as their passion.

The most recent movie the brothers directed was 2001´s "From Hell." They are attached to direct "The Ice Man," a hit man biopic being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Jason Blum, and "Kung Fu," based on the 1970s TV series, for Warners and Legendary. The studio is hoping to roll on "Eli" before year´s end."

Toujours pas vu Menace II society, mais en tout cas ça se présente pas mal. "wasteland" et "postapocalyptic" sont des mots qui me font frémir.

À part From Hell et Menace to society, qui a vu d´autres films des frères Hugues ? Keskeçavo ?

Dead Presidents = über-tuerie que tu te rues dessus si tu veux pas qu´on t´étouffe avec un sombrero premier prix.

From Hell, je l´avais trouvé bien moyen a vrai dire. Mais ça fait longtemps que je l´ai vu.

Et puis quand on voit comment a tourner John Singleton, on peut craindre le pire quand au nouveau film des frères Hugues.

J´ai pas un souvenir inoubliable de From Hell non plus.

Quel rapport avec John Singleton au fait ?

Ben "menace to society" et "boyz in the hood" sont considérés comme les 2 films de gangsta majeur.

Et il fallait conclure que meme si on a fait un super grand film, on est pas a l´abris de navets en chaines.

Sauf qu´ils se sont confirmés par la suite avec d´autre films, donc ce n´est pas vraiment comparable. Le post de Flicht en témoigne.

Au temps pour moi.

Plus je regarde le grand journal a cannes et plus je me dis que c´est pathétique. Je sais pas si c´est du totalement aux questions d´ariane massenet et de Weil (quand il est la), mais a chaque fois qu´ils répondent a ses questions j´ai l´impression que les acteurs se ridiculisent completement. Et la rourke et dalle, repondaient assez brièvement (surtout toutke a vrai dire) et les présentateurs faisaient tout leur possible pour meubler. C´était assez marrant a voir.

Je l´avais chopée sur "abandonware".

Moi sur abandonware j´avais laissé tomber parce qu´il fallait graver le jeu sur un CD pour y jouer.
