Oui à chaque fois qu'il a joué -quand pas blessé-, on a été très dangereux et Scheffler productif, mais tout ça dans la système de Shany. Il faut arrêter de blamer McDaniels et se mettre en tête qu'on a un nouveau HC avec un système différent! N'importe quel autre HC aurait fait ça aussi et apporté un système différent! Ya qu'à voir Jim Bates et son système, bon ça n'a pas marché, on va bien voir avec McDaniels maintenant!

Ca ne sert à rien de le garder si notre nouvelle attaque n'utilise pas bcp le TE... mais plutot 3 bons WR!

Ca ferait un bon DE dans le 3-4 je pense! et puis une voix de plus sur le terrain après Dawkins, Holliday était capitaine aux Dolphins.

D.J. Williams devrait jouer MLB dans une 3-4 en position de "Will", au côté d'Andra Davis qui devrait jouer "Mike", avec ces deux là je pense qu'il y a assez peu de chances de drafter un MLB, plutôt un OLB capable de jouer dans une 3-4 comme Cushing ou un peu plus loin Follett.

Dans ce cas là, on a déjà Wesley Woodyard qui avait été énorme en OLB Will lorsque DJ était blessé, et sinon on a aussi Boss Bailey mais lui c'est plutot un OLB "cover", il est pas trop pass-rush, je ne sais pas ce que ça pourrait donner en 3-4, je ne connais pas trop ce système mais pour le OLB "pass-rush" on a déjà Jarvis Moss (à l'époque, drafté au 1er tour, il était jugé comme un OLB-DE pour une 3-4 et était vraiment trop light pour jouer DE en 4-3) et aussi Dumervill.

Mais Maualuga pourrait apporter une dimension de leader et de hitter que l'on n'a pu depuis la retraite de Al Wilson. parce que DJ est un playmaker mais pas un gros leader, ni big hitter, et Andra Davis, je sais pas!

GO BRONCOS

C'est vrai que Woodyard est un très bon joueur. D'ailleurs Boss Bailey est aussi un ILB dans une 3-4 c'est pour ça que je pense que vous avez assez de personnel en ILB. Le WOLB dans une 3-4 s'appelle le "Jack" c'est une position assez libre en général c'est le meilleur pass rusher de l'équipe c'est pour ça que Dumervil ferait bien l'affaire à mon avis. Parcontre en SOLB il vous faut un run stopper comme Cushing ou Follett par exemple, un mec puissant capable de rentrer dans le lard des TE ou des FB. D.J. Williams pour moi est adéquate pour le poste de Will en 3-4, un poste qui ressemble beaucoup au poste de Will dans une 4-3, il aura un peu le rôlr qu'avait un Bart Scott à Baltimore, avec ces capacités de vitesse et de couverture ça sera un joueur essentiel de cette défense. Pour Andra Davis c'est un excellent run stopper parfait pour jouer en Mike, avec un bon NT il peut faire mal on l'a vu l'an passé avec Shaun Rogers. Maitenant il vous faut un bon NT et ça court pas les rues.

Les Broncos on resingné Kenny Peterson, on finalement sigmé J.J. Arrington et on fait de Chris Simms le backup de Cutler.

LaMont Jordan a eu un petit contrat mais un gros signing bonus (500.000$) donc ça voudrait dire qu'il ne serait pas juste là pour être testé mais bien faire partie du 53 à la fin, d'ailleurs McDaniels le connait déjà bien.
Je ne vois pas trop l'interet d'avoir autant de RB maintenant d'autant que Torain et surtout Hillis étaient bien prometteurs (dans le système de Shany, ok..) mais je pense qu'Hillis devrait avoir sa place en FB au pire, un peu à la Mike Alstott

A noter que les 13 FA qu'on a signé, valent 100M$ de salaire, pareil que le seul contrat de Haynesworth à Washington!!

Bon, assez content de la signature de Simms en backup, il a une starting expérience en plus déjà. Peterson peut etre un bon gars en DE, tout tend à montrer qu'on va aller chercher un NT à la draft : BJ Raji ou Ron Brace de Boston College. Je pense qu'on peut avoir l'un ou l'autre si on en veut vraiment : si Raji tombe en 12 ou alors un trade down pour avoir Brace.

Je trouve qu'on a plutot été pas mal dans cette FA, on a signé assez de gars, pas de gros contrat, pas de joueur à risque (pas de Travis Henry, de Javon Walker, de Maurice Clarett, Dewayne Robertson, Courtney Brown, etc...). Je prendrai encore bien Olshansky pour le poste de DE, à voir le contrat qu'il demanderait, sinon j'ai regardé la liste des FA, ya encore moyen de choper un NT, pas très connu mais qui pourrait quand même être là au cas où le drafté soit un bust (et c'est souvent le cas à cette position!!). Pareil pour les LB, reste encore Eric Barton ou Zach Thomas qui ont déjà joué ILB en 3-4 mais c'est vrai que pour les LB, on commence à être armé mais si on a l'argent via la FA pour combler tous les trous de "besoin", ensuite pour la draft, on pourra se permettre de drafter "les meilleurs joueurs" en défense que ce soit DL, LB, DB disponible et construire l'équipe à l'avenir sur eux.

Ques qui interresant dans les jour en défensive qu'on a signé c'est qu'ils proviennet d'équipe qui jouais en 3-4 l'an passé (Hill, Goodman, Davis, fields) Ya que Dawkins qui ne jouais pas en 3-4 mais ils ont du se dire que le meilleur Safety des FA doit entre capable sans probleme de jouer en 3-4.

OFFENSE

Chris Simms, QB: He’s a good leader and very hungry for a starting job. Joining McDaniels will rejuvenate his career. He’ll keep the pressure on and always competes.

LaMont Jordan, RB: A big back who cannot be the starter. But he can wear down teams and is a very good short yardage runner.

J.J. Arrington, RB: Kickoff return specialist and a jack-of-all-trades. The Kevin Faulk of the Rockies.

Correll Buckhalter, RB: Another back who cannot be the main man, but he and Jordan might be able to complement each other. Between the two of them, the Broncos might have one back.

Jabar Gaffney, WR: McDaniels needed someone who can show the other wideouts what the offense is about and someone he can trust to prepare and play the game the right way. This signing will help on the field, but more off the field.

DEFENSE

Kenny Peterson, DT: He has played well for the Broncos and might be the best defensive lineman from the old regime. He is best when he’s on the move and might be best suited to an inside nickel tackle role.

Darrell Reid, DT: Comes from the one-gap scheme of the Colts and is best suited to be on the move. Plays a little bigger than his size, however, he’s not a zero technique nose and will need to be on the move.

Ronald Fields, DT: Will significantly help the defense in terms of power and technique. He is strong and can hold the line of scrimmage. My favorite signing of the Broncos.

Andra Davis, LB: Not very fast, will struggle in pass coverage and struggle to make space plays. He’s very limited, and I doubt he can hold the starting job all year. They might be able to draft over him.

Andre’ Goodman, CB: Smart and tough and coming off his best season. He might not have great speed, but he has balance and can make plays.

Renaldo Hill, CB/FS: He’s a football player – smart and aware of the game — but he’s limited in some areas of athletic talent. He can play inside slot, and as long as everyone knows his speed limitations, he will be able to make plays.

Brian Dawkins, S: Like Gaffney, he was signed for his off-the-field talents as much as his on-field talent.

Lonnie Paxton, C: He helps McDaniels set up his kicking game. Not sure I would have spent the money on a replaceable position.

Even after all this, there is still much work to do. The Broncos must find a pass rushing outside backer, and it appears to me they will focus on defensive players in the draft. Improving the core special teams players and defensive talent is the first order of business in the draft. This free agent class will never make a splash, but the Broncos have to get good before they get great. Great players need to come from the draft.

Competition is the Golden Rule, and McDaniels is the boss. We’ve learned this in the last week

c'est tjrs des articles, chacun en fait à sa sauce c'est un peu relou mais tout ce fiasco ne m'étonne pas parce que ni Bowlen, ni McDaniels n'a publiquement pris la parole pour vraiment mettre les choses au point, conférence de presse ou je ne sais quoi et pas seulement envoyer un porte-parole dire une phrase "on ne le tradera pas, point."

Donc oui ça ne m'étonnerait vraiment pas de voir Cutler tradé, mais j'ai un peu peur qu'au final, si la situation empire, qu'on ne le brade, genre si on arrive à un point où la seule solution est de l'échanger... Sérieux McDaniels joue vraiment avec le feu et ça va passer à quitte ou double, mais dans tout ça, il a l'air d'etre soutenu par Bowlen et je pense que tout ça est prévu depuis le début (interview de McDaniels), enfin ça fait partie d'un plan.

Sérieux c'est fou comme McD s'implique et fait son plan, il fait vraiment pas les choses à moitié et j'espère vraiment qu'il est bien sûr de lui... il a peut etre un QB en vue à la draft, surlequel il est vraiment sur de lui, il veut peut etre battir qqch sur Stafford ou je sais pas.. 1) CBS4 in Denver reports that Broncos owner Pat Bowlen tried to call disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler twice last week.
And that Cutler snubbed him. Twice.
CBS4 also reports that the much-anticipated face-to-face meeting between Cutler and team officials was replaced by a conference call conducted on Monday.
Coach Josh McDaniels and Bowlen reportedly were on the line with Cutler. CBS4, citing unnamed sources, reports that the tone of the conversation “was not exactly ‘make nice.’” Instead, coach Josh McDaniels made it clear “how the team will be run, and how Cutler was expected to fit into that plan.”

The person, who asked to remain anonymous because no one in the organization was authorized to speak publicly about the talks, said issues were discussed openly and it was re-emphasized that Cutler would not be traded. It was also stated that Cutler needed to meet with McDaniels in person to keep things moving in the right direction.

4)The Broncos, according to the source close to the team, say the call was conducted in a nonconfrontational manner, with team officials willing to answer every question, and that the call ended positively. The possibility of a future trade never came up.

Mike Klis, of The Denver Post, reports a source close to Denver Broncos QB Jay Cutler said Cutler is expected to attend head coach Josh McDaniels' first team meeting Monday, March 16, and that Cutler has considered selling his 7,516-square-foot home for more than a year. Thus Cutler putting his home for sale may not necessarily mean a potential trade is in the works.

According to an NFL source, the proposed trade that never materialized but nevertheless turned Broncos' headquarters into "All My Children" didn't go down as so many reports suggest.
The deal that would have sent Jay Cutler elsewhere and New England quarterback Matt Cassel to Denver didn't collapse because Broncos coach Josh McDaniels entered the discussions late.
The source, who was involved in the trade discussions, says Belichick aggressively pushed Cassel upon McDaniels from the onset. McDaniels may have allowed loyalty to cloud his judgment and entertained Belichick's proposals far too long.
But according to the source, not one of the many trade offers that swung through Dove Valley came close to pushing the Broncos into striking a deal.
