- Clady deserves the hype. He'd probably get more attention if he was more quotable, or outgoing. Cleveland left tackle Joe Thomas made the Pro Bowl his rookie year. He needed an injury to Jason Peters, but he became a Pro Bowler.
Then again, Joe Thomas went fishing on draft day with ESPN cameras in tow. People know him. Everybody likes a guy who, given a choice to do anything in the world, would rather fish. Clady and his offensive linemates have only allowed quarterback Jay Cutler to be sacked five times (not counting the infamous fumble against San Diego). Only Tennessee's Kerry Collins has been sacked less, and he's thrown nearly 100 fewer passes than Cutler.
The biggest reason why the O-line isn't getting more attention, though, is because the Broncos haven't been running the ball. Hard to believe the Broncos are only ranked 18th in rushing this year. They've never ranked outside the top 10 in rushing during the Shanahan era, with the exception of their aborted 1999 season. *
