tiens une reflexion interessante vu dans un forum
First , I am NOT advocating that Jake Long should be or will be the Rams first selection but in the event that the Rams do feel that way , they most likely better take him at No. 2 rather than get 'cute' and trading down a couple slots hoping to still get him and adding a draft pick.
I have seen a few posts suggesting this thought that the Rams could trade down to No. 4 Oakland and still get Jake Long. Be careful though !
Let's say the Dolphins select Chris Long No. 1 and the Raiders would want a player they they think the Falcons also want (let's use McFadden as an example) . If the Raiders swapped picks with the Rams (#4 for #2 ) to 'leapfrog' Atlanta to take McFadeen , then the Falcons are on the board at No. 3 .. With McFadden (Raiders) off the board , the Falcons may then turn their attention back to QB Matt Ryan (their 'fall back' guy if McFadden was somehow taken ahead of them ).
Some would say /great Falcons take Matt Ryan and the Rams still get Jake Long at no. 4 but 'hold the phone' ...... our friends on the west side of Missouri .the KC Chiefs might have other ideas . The Chiefs could offer to swap picks with Atlanta ( #5 for #3 ).. Why ? Well , the Chiefs could then take the much needed OT Jake Long and snatch him from the Rams and it wouild be easy to convince the Falcons that they risk little in moving down to #5 as the Falcons would still get QB Matt Ryan plus get the added pick for dropping down two spots.
So the Rams in above scenario would lose Jake Long.
Now if the Rams dont mind taking that risk and would be fine with a Sedrick Ellis , Vern Gholston , even Dorsey at no. 4 , then do it BUT the point of this post is this ..." IF" the Rams want Jake Long ..they better take him at No. 2 or risk losing him.
