· To settle any confusion, where does DMC4 come in the DMC timeline?
Chronologically DMC4 is the third game in the DMC timeline. DMC3 was set first, followed by the original DMC, then DMC4 and finally DMC2.
l'ordre des DMC par Kobayashi, une bonne fois pour toutes
GI: So it’s not such a coincidence that Nero and Dante look so much alike?
Kobayashi: It’s not a coincidence, the do look much alike. DMC is a game about guns and swords.
GI: Is there an explanation given in the story?
Kobayashi: No, there is nothing in the story that will explain it. When we sat down to design DMC 4, we came up with that because it really is the coolest design for the series. Visually, having the very long, flowing coat is something that we really wanted
leur ressemblance n'est que parce que les mecs trouvent ça cool.
Kikizo: Let's talk more about the Devil Bringer arm. My understanding is that Nero was not born like this, so can you tell us how this happened to him?
Kobayashi: At first, Nero thought that he had injured his arm, that an infection had spread or something, so he had it bandaged up and kept it hidden all the time! But at some point, he realised that he actually had power against the devil, so he started using it but nobody knew about it for a while, but he is now using it at an advanced level obviously. One thing I can say to you is that the first person that realises what's going on with Nero is Dante

What we actually did in the beginning was create it for PC, and then translate this to PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Because of the slightly different performance of the two consoles, it might come out slightly different, perhaps the video image will vary, or the feel of the controller may be different. If you are familiar with the PS2 or PS3 controller you may feel it is a little bit different on the 360, only because the buttons feel different or whatever. Also rumble vibration feedback will be included in both. We are doing things with Achievements on the 360 version of course.
