Bordeaux have warned Lyon they would be wasting their time resurrecting a bid for Marouane Chamakh.
Lyon are still trying to bring in a new striker, despite the arrival of John Carew, and have been long-term admirers of Chamakh.
The French champions have already had a €12 million offer for the Morocco international rejected by Bordeaux.
But, with Lyon´s pursuit of Liverpool forward Milan Baros and Monaco´s unsettled attacker Emmanuel Adebayor unlikely to end in a positive outcome, reports claim they will try again for Chamakh.
The 21-year-old has been pencilled in to spearhead the Bordeaux front line this season and the club are determined to retain his services.
Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud is aware Lyon still covet Chamakh but has again warned the striker´s suitors that the player is not for sale.
" I think Lyon has not abandoned the idea to sign him but it will not happen," Triaud told L´Equipe.
" Chamakh will not be transferred there. It is a firm and definitive no."
En gros selon SkySports Lyon suivrait toujours chamakh et serait près à faire une offre de 12 millions mais triaud l´a déclaré indispensable et intransférable ( mais d´un autre coté y laisse partir tout le monde en ce moment
) Du classique.
