'''So then why does it exist? To protect high-skill weapons and gameplay, low-skill weapons must also exist. Currently Robocraft is an extremely competitive game which creates a very high barrier of entry for new players. This means that the game will overall be less successful than it can be because a high barrier of entry means lower retention numbers (which is the lifeblood of a F2P game).
To resolve this, one of two options exist. Reduce the overall skill requirement for Robocraft, or offer alternative ways to play which cater to lower-skilled players without affecting the higher levels of play.
So the Proto-Seeker lets a newer player have a way to deal damage, get used to the controls and understand battle flow without being utterly useless because they’re not able to consistently hit with SMG or position correctly for Flak or LoML. Especially when tiers are completely flattened and horizontal progression allows for weapons to be unlocked regardless of player level, the Proto-Seeker will give new Robocrafters something to do instead of just getting destroyed repeatedly.'''
