Ea Ufc2 a dépassé le million :
As per my prediction that I made on the 4th April, “EA Sports UFC 2” has surpassed a significant milestone today, by selling more than a million physical copies of the game within the first three weeks of its launch date.
Whilst this accomplishment can be downplayed slightly by the fact that there are:
• 4.45 times more current gen console owners now than when EA’s 2014’s UFC game was released
• “EA Sports UFC 2” was discounted in the US by 33% from around its launch week onwards
• “EA Sports UFC 2” was available at a trade-in price of $10 to US gamers
• There are no highly-rated sports combat games for the current gen console market competing for the buying power of the same set of consumers
And despite these factors, I genuinely believe that selling more than a million units is still a fairly impressive achievement!
There are a few downsides to consider though:
• The declining sales trend for “EA Sports UFC 2” is slightly more severe than the previous two UFC titles
• Neither format of the game is likely to obtain a top 12 position in next weeks’ global physical sales chart
• The combined total sales of both the PS4 & Xbox One formats is likely to drop to around the 78K mark by next week, which will be approximately 540K less than the figures realised for launch week
All-in-all, I predict that the global lifetime sales for “EA Sports UFC 2” will be around the 2.4m mark by the time its sequel becomes available for pre-order in 2018, which is a quite remarkable feat for a game ranked below “UFC Undisputed 3”, “UFC Undisputed 2010”, “UFC 2009 Undisputed” & “EA Sports MMA” by Metacritic.
