Most frustrating thing I have ever done in a video game: auraxiuming this turd. SMGs make better long-range and short-range weapons than this. There is no reason to use this over the KSR-35.

It is not a sniper rifle but it sure beats a scout rifle or smg for those akward ranges I personally love this thing. Its ugly as heck but at least the design psychology is the same as the T4 amp. It really shines at mid range assasination. Pick a target. Aim @ head. Profit.

They said they make 3 new Sniper Rifles. NC got a real Sniper Rifle witch is more than fair if you master it. Vanu got a Rifle whitch is fun to play and a fair alternative to the Parallax VX3 when you whant to change a bit to your Sniper Routine. And TR got .... no Sniper Rifle. Jeah they got a new Gun but it is no Sniper Rifle at all. Just a Scout Rifle and even as that, there are plenty other also good vairants. BUT SNIPERS WANT SNIPER RIFLES! Of course there are a few who even enjoy hunting whith the TRAP-M1 but even those are rare.
So theys announce 3 Sniper Rifles. Give NC and Vanu good and fun Rifles and TR somthing different..... a Scout Rifle jeah but than they also release a new Scout Rifle for every one .... So when i want some fun at a different way of real Sniping i change Server and Empire?

If you want a real sniper rifle, take the RAMS .50m or the SR-7.
If I had to get as many kills as possible in an hour but only using the three new empire specific snipers, i'd take the TRAP over the Railjack or Phaseshift any day. The phaseshift is supposed to be versatile but is crippled by its lack of low-mag scopes for close ranges, only viable as a long range sniper and even then inferior to the parallax. The railjack is good, yeah, but just another sniper. The TRAP, for those who master it, is really fantastic. Give it a chance, you might be surprised- but you will not do well if you try to use it like just another sniper rifle.
It still is the ugliest fucking gun in the game tho.

ok guys i know that this is labeled as a sniper but its really not. If you try to use the TRAP as a sniper you will fail.
its really its own kind of gun; the different firing modes allow a lot of versitlity. its not AMAZING at any one thing.
what really makes this gun shine is the suppresor. it has virtually no drop in bullet velocity making it an effective assassination weapon. now unless you have the correct attachments you will hate the gun; and this gun is really not made for anyone short of a pro. i have played with the TRAP and i have been very succesfull with it. you are going to need the grip, the suppresor, and a good scope (but remember its not really a sniper); i use the x4 and x2 scopes, and occasionally the good old iron sights. you will also want a good side arm. unless your very good with the gun you will hate it. and if you want a gun for short to medium range i do reccomend a SMG or a scout rifle. And for a strictly sniping weapon you are better off with a bolt action. i usually use the TRAP when i know i will be behind enemy lines where i cant rely on other to cover my weaknesses, or when i need to be quiet but still have some good punch and range. it has to be used by an experienced player and even then it takes a lot of practice. which is why many players arent seen with it.

This gun is horrible. i've fought with it, i've fought against those using it, and i know it all too well. the third bullet of the burst fire mode is actually garuanteed to miss beyond CQC making it entirely irrelevant for anyone who actually intends to use it as a sniper rifle. at medium range, you could feasibly kill someone with a few clicks of 2 bullet burst fire mode, but aiming for the head will again ensure that your second bullet misses your target. at long range, you might as well be waving a carbine around. you'd be better off with a SABR-13, or practically any other sniper or scout rifle available to you. the problem is that the recoil from firing the first bullet affects where the next bullets are going. the whole point of bust fire sniper rifles is that they have a very narrow spread so enture the target is hit at least once, but in a game where bullets have damage value attatched to them, (and those bullets add up to the same damage as a bolt action) all of them need to hit for it to be as effective. all this gun does is ensure that 33% or 66% of your damage is thrown into the area where you're NOT aiming.

the recoil currently makes it weaksauce. needs buffing by delaying the effect of the recoil

the other factions get high rate of fire weapons (GD-7F, serpent) and get to use bullets (Nanite systems). but there isn't any cross over the other way for the TR. Then again we don't play TR for the weapons, its because we know we are right and not misguided and/or terrorists.

I am an NC myself, and I can say that the Railjack of ours needs a bit of tuning as well. There is a noticable delay between trigger pull and the actuall bullet leaving the barrel. This makes it have a SLOWER effective travel time, rechamber time, and a smaller clip size. The only advantage is the lack of bullet drop. But if a target moves within the relatively giant gap of bullet from sniper to target, you miss. You are not the only ones who need weapon adjustments and/or replacements.
