"Skate 3 might be the next game to join the Xbox One’s backward compatibility program—and no, that’s not just wishful thinking.
We know that progress on the game is definitely ongoing; it’s listed at the bottom of the official backward compatibility page on Microsoft’s website. Microsoft’s kept quiet on any news of a release date, but the company can’t hide the fact that a brand new patch just rolled out for the otherwise stagnant, six-year-old game (spotted by YouTuber X7 Albert and reported by other players).
The patch fixes an old multiplayer issue with Skate 3. Previously, players who had the game as a physical disc and players who had the game as a digital download weren’t able to play together. Now, though, everyone can play together in the same session. Since one of the Backward Compatibility program’s biggest selling points is that it allows for easy cross-platform play, letting Xbox 360 and Xbox One players together and maintaining saves between the Xbox One and PC, this patch seems to be priming Skate 3 for inclusion."
