" Coming Back" commentary

Alright, I think it´s about time I clear things up for people. I know there´s a lot of people scratching their heads, wondering what the heck I´m doing " coming back" to wrestling. So, here´s the deal. Sometime, maybe last may, I got an offer to wrestle in England, Germany, and Scotland. . ..My original response was that I wasn´t interested. I´ve had quite a few offers since I left wrestling, but this one actually made pause and reconsider. . ...Why? Well, because I figure this, how many people have the opportunity to fly overseas and see foreign countries, all while making some $$ at the time? Not many. Right?
That was my original thinking, but then I returned to my original plan, which was to never come back to wrestling. I was very serious about that, and never thought I´d consider returning. However, things are a lot different now. . .You see, back then, wrestling was controlling my life. It sounds stupid, but it really was. It was making me sleep deficient, making my school work suffer, causing me to walk around in pain most of the time, and dealing me a GREAT amount of stress. . ..I had a lot of fun doing it, but it came time for me to check the scales, and wrestling was causing me more problems than benefits.
But now it´s different. Now that I left wrestling, I´m totally in control of that aspect of my life. Which is why I feel a little more comfortable with taking a booking. . .But the deciding factor was when I told the promoters overseas that if they fly in Rain ( my girlfriend), I´d do it. . .I saw it as an opportunity for a fun, free vacation for us, so I didn´t see a problem with milking the benefits of all I worked for in wrestling just one more time.
This really doesn´t change much else, though. It has taken me some time to get used to not having wrestling in my life, but I honestly don´t miss it at all anymore. I feel like I´ve done so much in my career, that I really have no need to come back. Plus, taking on filmmaking career has been easily, the most exciting thing I´ve done thus far in my entire life. . ..As most people know, I´m working on putting together a feature length project right now. I shot with my lead actress for the first time last weekend, and it was unbelievably satisfying to see the vision I´ve been working on for over a year now, coming to life.
Back to the overseas bookings, it hopefully will work out ok. As of now, there´s a little bit of a bump in that road, because of some booking disagreements. . ..I had said months ago that I´m not interested in doing any death matches if I come back, and was told that that´s perfectly ok. . ..The show in Germany was announced, and I hear that I´m supposedly doing a hardcore match. . .Well, I can assure you that it´s not going to happen. . ..I think doing a deathmatch after TOD2 would be all but pointless. Sure, it would entertain people and make them happy, but going back to bleeding and getting cut up again is not something I´m willing to do. So, hopefully that issue can get ironed out, and things will go through just fine. But I think any fan of CZW who truly knows me and what I´ve been through would understand why I wouldn´t feel the need, or desire to come out of retirement to get cut up again. It´s kind of like beating a dead horse, you know?
Sorry to dissapoint, but don´t count on a return to CZW, either. Besides the fact that I think it would kind of be a pointless, confusing tease to the fans, my schedule simply doesn´t have room to be adding bookings into it now. Locally, I´m going to be training a group of about 10 people on a session by session basis to make some $$, but that´s really about as much time as I have for wrestling. . ..And besides, this business is constantly replacing it´s stars. Especially in a case like CZW. The style there is SO demanding. Even for those who don´t do UV. The head drops are getting sicker and sicker, and there is simply NO way of getting around the damage that does to your neck and spine. Careers are getting shorter, and the bar for wrestling is constantly getting raised. . ..I read up over at czwfans from time to time, and I hear about the new batch of workers who are popular w/ the fans. That´s fine, and it´s cool and all, but in a few years, I can guarantee you most of those people will be replaced as well. It sounds like Sexxy Eddie is an awesome worker, but man, you can only keep up that stuff for so long. . ..I´m working on getting a tape of some of his stuff, by the way. I hear CZW has been putting on some top notch shows lately. . ..Well, they always do and always have, but it would be fun for me to kind of see where their at.
I guess that´s all for now. Sorry if I let people down. I hope you can understand why I´m interested in taking these overseas bookings, but not in coming back to wrestling full time. Take care,
