The removal of Create-A-Player was not an easy decision, and we fully understand that some people will be very upset about this. There has been an upgrade to a number of systems in the game this year, including the menu system, the rendering and the connections to the database. Due to this, last years Create-A-Player had to be completely rewritten, including some planned improvements.
Unfortunately due to technology issues, running out of time, and the quality of the feature, we had to make a decision to focus our efforts on the gameplay and not trying to get the existing Create-A-Player working. It was just not in a state that anyone was happy with, it didn´t work, and had a lot of work to go that would have meant sacrificing other areas, or releasing the game even later, not something many of you seem to want.
I understand and appreciate everyones concern, I feel the same, I feel terrible about it, but it was something we had to do. We will be making a strong effort to release Roster updates more frequently including the new rookies, and rest assured that this feature will be back in NHL 2006, better than ever. The Create-A-Team feature is still in the game.
Sorry everyone.
