" When I hit login it says " error connecting the Xfire server" or it keeps staying on the window of DNS lookup and endlessly tries to reconnect. It used to work just fine when I had my router hooked up and my firewall on. For some reason, this new update just doesn´t work for me. How do I fix this?"
Do you have a firewall? When Xfire is updated, most of it´s critical features are updated as well. Firewalls will view the program as a " changed program" and not the same program you originally allowed in your firewall. This is a security feature to help prevent viruses, malware, etc.
To fix this simply go into your firewall configuration and find the blocked programs list. Unblock all of the Xfire.exe entries that may be blocked ( many firewalls will have a new entry for each updated version of Xfire). Once the latest version of Xfire is no longer blocked by your firewall you should be able to log in once again.
If you´re still having problems, post in our tech support forum and we will do our best to track down the problem!
