Foot - Euro : RUS : Exclusion de Mostovoi

Le milieu de terrain russe Alexander Mostovoi a été exclu de la sélection engagée dans l´Euro, a indiqué mardi auprès de la délégation russe basée à Vilamoura.

Selon l´agence russe Itar-Tass, ce sont des critiques formulées dans des déclarations à la presse par le joueur contre ses entraîneurs qui ont justifié cette décision. Le joueur, qui est à 35 ans le plus expérimenté du groupe, a été prié de plier bagage immédiatement, à la veille du match décisif que la Russie doit disputer contre le Portugal à Lisbonne.

«La présence de Mostovoi au sein de l´équipe était inutile», en raison de ses «déclarations inopportunes et contraires à l´éthique dans les médias espagnols», a expliqué mardi la délégation russe à Itar-Tass. Le sélectionneur principal russe Gueorgui Iartsev, a estimé, selon l´agence russe, que Mostovoi avait «voulu rejeter la responsabilité de sa prestation ratée, voire catastrophique, sur les méthodes de préparation proposées par les entraîneurs».

Cette sanction a été aussitôt critiquée par le vice-président de la fédération russe de football, le député Valéry Draganov, qui l´a qualifiée de «hâtive» et «improductive». Elle «aura un impact négatif sur le climat psychologique au sein de l´équipe» alors que «Mostovoi et son expérience auraient été bien utiles contre les Portugais», a-t-il regretté, selon Ria-Novosti.
