LIQUIDATION A MARSEILLE
Manchester City are believed to be casting an eye over Marseille forward Peguy Luyindula.
Luyindula performed with credit during a season of underachievement by the Stade Velodrome club, as l´OM failed to secure a place in European competition.
It has been claimed that Luyindula is deeply frustrated with Marseille´s continued failure to challenge for honours and is looking for a fresh challenge.
The forward scotched the reports on Thursday by declaring he wants to remain on the South Coast of France, but it has been claimed that City have been casting admiring glances the way of Luyindula.
City boss Stuart Pearce is eager to breathe new life into his squad and has been scouring the market for possible additions.
Money is tight at Eastlands and French sources are suggesting a loan deal is City´s favoured option.
A potential stumbling block for City is that they cannot offer the former Lyon man European football next term and he may also feel that moving away from France could jeopardise his chances of playing in the World Cup - should Les Bleus negotiate their way through qualification.
Luyindula may well snub any offers in the hope that his second season at Marseille brings about the improvement he craves.
