Saviola: I want to stay
Javier Saviola has spelt out his desire to stay at Barcelona amid rumours the club are fielding offers for his services.
The striker is currently on Copa America duty with Argentina and speculation over his future at the club is intensifying.
Catalan daily El Mundo Deportivo claims Barca have two offers for the striker, one from England and one from France, and are not ruling out the possibility of selling him this summer because of his contractual situation.
The Primera outfit want the player to agree to a reduction in his salary as his massive contract was sanctioned by the previous board.
Barca are reportedly planning to negotiate with the player and his agent Alfredo Cabrera Brizuela when he returns from the Copa America, but the player has made it clear he has no intention of leaving Camp Nou.
" I wish to stay in Barcelona," Saviola stated. " The last thing that I want is to leave the club because I am in the city that I like and it´s the place where I feel comfortable.
" I know what any person that reads the newspaper can feel but when I go back to Barcelona I will speak about all what is being said. At the moment it is all speculation."
On the possibility of moving from Camp Nou, he added: " I haven´t received any phone calls from other teams because I wish to stay in Barcelona.
" When I go back to Spain I will talk about my future."
