Kapo waits as Boumsong shows regret
Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce admits he is losing the chase for the signature of Auxerre´s highly-rated Olivier Kapo.
As previously reported, Bolton are among a host of clubs pursuing the talented forward, who is out of contract and available under the Bosman Ruling in the summer.
" I think we might be out of that race at the moment," declared Allardyce.
Meanwhile, Kapo´s Auxerre team-mate Jean-Alain Boumsong has admitted fielding interest from a number of top sides before opting to join Rangers at the end of the campaign.
" Arsenal, Inter and Marseille showed an interest, more or less direct," Boumsong told L´Equipe. " But it didn´t come to anything.
" I was surprised. I thought guys in my position were in-demand.
" However, nothing serious happened."
The France centre back admits it is a wrench to be leaving Stade Abbe-Deschamps, but his reasons are influenced by financial factors.
" Auxerre will remain a beautiful story," he added. " I have improved here.
" For me, Auxerre is just like a family.
" But, at a certain time, there is the financial aspect.
" If AJA had the means to build a great club, a lot of players would stay.
" My wages have almost not improved in four years.
" Perhaps I would have played my whole career here.
" Sometimes I tell myself I could come back one day."
Apparament Kapo serait pas contre l´idée de venir à l´OM si on lui proposait quelque chose de concret.
