Van Buyten: City want to buy me

Daniel van Buyten has revealed that Kevin Keegan is keen to sign him on a permanent basis.
The Manchester City defender, currently on loan from Marseille, is struggling with a groin strain and is rated doubtful for Belgium´s friendly with France on Wednesday night.
However, the giant centre back is hopeful he will have enough opportunities at The City of Manchester Stadium to convince Keegan to make his move permanent in the summer.
" Kevin Keegan told me he prefers to enlist players´ services on long-term deals and he will try to gather the money for the option to buy me," van Buyten told L´Equipe.
" Meanwhile, he told me to have fun.
" For the rest, it is too early to talk about that.
" From the outside, I felt English football was made for me. I have been delighted since my arrival.
" When he talked to me, Kevin Keegan told me that Manchester City was the perfect club for my pretensions to play in the best English clubs."
The Belgian stopper is keen to be fit in time for the Premiership clash with Bolton Wanderers at the weekend so he may sit out the international with Les Bleus.
" On Monday, we measured the power of our kicks," he added. " After a strong kick, I felt a pain.
" On Tuesday, it has not disappeared so I have stopped the training session.
" I remember, when I started as a professional at Charleroi, I neglected that kind of warning and I was unavailable for two months."
