At around 11:15 today, we had another hardware crash, identical to the one yesterday.
UPDATE 1900: Since the server went down just before lunch, we have been working on two parallell tracks: First of all, to get the existing server configuration back online and working. Secondly, to take our new database server into commission a week earlier than planned so that it can replace the server that have been troubling us for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, neither of these alternative systems are ready to handle a full-scale opening of the site at this point.
Rather, Hattrick is now running on a reserve system. The database is more or less intact ( we have lost some time between 11.00 and 11.15 today) and the program is running as it should. While it would be possible to open the site now, the reserve system couldn´t possible handle the number of users we can expect if we open tonight. If we did, we would risk new problems. This means that all games today are being played as they would have, while the transfer market is on hold. We aim to have the site open again tomorrow Thursday, at noon HT-time.
Also, we would like to say that we are as frustrated about these server closings as you are. The recent problems are all - ironically - related to major investments on our part to make the site faster and more stable. That may not be too comforting right now, but it should still be said that we will overcome these problems in time.
