As many of you know, progress on the mod has, over the past couple weeks, slowed to a complete stop. Only a few days ago I thought we would be releasing a demo pack by the end of March. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect this sudden change in events.

Following contact and negotiations, first in e-mail with the solicitors to the holdings of Middle Earth copyright, and today, in international telephone calls, a decision on the Fourth Age has been made.

As a result of the contacts and discussions, it has been concluded that Fourth Age: Total War does not have the right to the use of the copyright content of Middle-Earth for any Electronic Media Production, profit-making or non-profit.

Nor, it would appear, has it held any such rights over the past six months, despite our belief in such an agreement. This comes as just as much of a shock to the current Dev and Team members as it does to you.

This situation therefore means that 4A:TW is no longer a viable Project, irrespective of it’s nature as a non-profit tribute. In light of this breach of copyright law with the holders of the rights, we would be unable to release 4A:TW without threat of legal repercussion on all members, and it is therefore our only practical option to call a halt to the project at this stage.

In light of this closure, I would like to publicly thank the all of our members and fans, past and present, for their work and effort for the Fourth Age: Total War over the past few months.

Thank you. Each and every one of you, for the effort you gave, that got this project so far, to be halted. We’ve overcome letdowns, design changes, leadership issues, technical problems we thought would be impossible to overcome, and a hundred other problems. Sadly, this is the one problem we cannot get through.

PS- I am providing everyone with a transcript of our e-mails and telephones calls. So please, refrain from posting any supposed solutions or e-mailing the copyright holders until you´ve read them. This is very important. I insist everyone read this information ( even those of your who do not speak english well), it is very short. If you do e-mail the copyright holders, you risk getting the Dev Team members sued.

Nous on s´en fous on a le copyright et le soutien du créateur de Chronique de la lune noire donc aucun probléme de license et c´est pas un poisson d´avril
