"Perfect Dark Zero - Oh boy. This one´s going to be hard to write. While we were skeptical of Rare´s first person shooter prequel to the original Nintendo 64 game we started playing with this Xbox 360 launch title with an open mind. Unfortuately this game was by far the weakest of the games on display at the New York press event. Never mind that the graphics themselves just don´t look very good for even a first generation Xbox game but the gameplay is about as generic as any other first person shooters out there. There are a couple of nice features such as some puzzle elements to hack into locked doors and items and a remote controlled camera that can also double as a weapon but Perfect Dark Zero has terrible AI, unimpressive level design (oh boy, yet another warehouse level) and some very noticable bugs at this stage of development. At one point we had attacks from above by guys with rocket packs but when we shot them the guys tumbled out but the rocket packs stood still in the middle of the air. A first peson shooter that replaces a jump movement for a roll movement is also a bit odd as well. We only played through a couple of the early levels in the game so it´s possible it get´s better later on. Hopefully some of the game´s other features can be tightened up before the game is released but at this stage Perfect Dark Zero just doesn´t cut it compared to games like Half-Life 2, F.E.A.R. or even Halo 2."
