Elites 2 : " Les Chemins Leclerc"

Le VC Loudun a dominé la dernière manche qualificative de DN2 et DN1 Espoirs pour le grand ouest.

Le VC Loudun a confirmé sa domination actuelle en plaçant 2 coureurs sur le podium final des Chemins Leclerc dont l´arrivée se disputait à Hennebont dans le Morbihan. Cette 8ème édition d´une distance de 136 km rassemblait un plateau de choix, avec 29 équipes et 174 coureurs au départ. Parmi les favoris on comptait notamment Jérémy Roy du Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire qui passera professionnel à la Française des Jeux en Août prochain, Frédéric Mainguenaud ( ex-professionnel), Salva Vilchez, Frank Laurance, Nicolas Crosbie et Franck Ravaleu etc...

D´un groupe de neuf coureurs qui disposait d´une vingtaine de secondes d´avance à quelques encablures du circuit final, un duo sortit dès le premier tour, Joseph Lemoine ( UC Sablé - E3 Espoir) et Franck Ravaleu ( E2 - VC Loudun), qui n´ont jamais réussi à creuser un écart significatif mais l´équipe du VC Loudun contrôla parfaitement les contre-attaques du peloton. Les deux fuyards résistèrent pendant les 10 tours de circuit et c´est Franck Ravaleu qui régla au sprint son compagnon d´échappée. Victoire du VC Loudun ponctuée joliment par Nicolas CROSBIE pour la 3ème place.

Alentejo - La Razzia Delatour !

Andreï Zintchenko a remporté ce dimanche le Tour d´Alentejo à l´issue de la 5e et dernière étape qui est une nouvelle fois revenue à la formation Jean Delatour grâce à son sprinter Jean-Patrick Nazon.

L´Espagnol Arruti a remporté, légèrement détaché, la dernière étape du Tour de Navarre ( cat.2.5) devant le Français Denis Robin. Au classement général, victoire finale de Santi Segu devant le Hongrois Rohtmer et Pena. Julien Mazet termine 14e et Van Summeren 20e.

Le Tro Bo Leon à Samuel Dumoulin !

formation Jean Delatour continue à enchaîner les victoires avec ce dimanche le nouveau succès du jeune Samuel Dumoulin dans le Tro Bo Leon.

Le français s´est imposé devant le belge Philippe Gilbert et le Didier Rous.
Ce petit Paris-Roubaix breton, véritable fête bretonne dans le pays léonard, affichait un magnifique plateau pour sa 20e édition: O´Grady, Planckaert, Mattan, Cooke ( vainqueur sortant) côtoyaient les meilleurs français tels Rous, Chavanel, Durand, ou Gaumont.
C´est d´ailleurs Chavanel qui lançait les hostilités accompagné de Philippe Gaumont, bien malchanceux cette année encore une fois. Duo sans doute trop réputé pour partir de la sorte, et c´est en fait à une soixantaine de kilomètres de l´arrivée, dans les fameux " ribins" ( sortes de sections pavées, avec des pierres à la place) que le bon coup partait: Samuel Dumoulin ( Delatour), Philippe Gilbert ( Fdjeux.com) et Didier Rous ( La Boulangère)se détachaient du petit peloton et O´Grady, Mattan ou encore Finot figuraient dans le groupe de poursuite. Derrière, les Brioches la Boulangère chassaient ne sachant plus à quel leader se fier, mais le peloton ne reviendra jamais.

Les trois hommes de tête collaboraient bien avec un Rous impressionant, mais ce dernier, alors que la victoire devait se jouer entre le tiro, crevait dans le dernier ribin à 3 kilomètres de l´arrivée! Un petit Paris-Roubaix, qu´on vous disait! La présence d´un assistant mécano à cet endroit ne suffisait pas pour revenir sur le duo de tête qui ne se regardait pas. La future génération était en tête de ce Tro Bro Léon, et se disputerait la victoire.
Le belge lançait le sprint, et malgré une petite vague dans le dernier virage, laissait une petite place au minuscule Samuel Dumoulin qui se faufilait contre les barrières et emportait une magnifique victoire pour un rien! A l´arrivée, le néo-pro de Jean Delatour confiait que Didier Rous était sans doute plus fort que les deux jeunots, mais il faut de la chance pour triompher dans une telle course! Le tarnais ne semblait d´ailleurs pas trop abattu par ce coup du sort, puisqu´il ne s´attendait de totue façon pas à figurer si bien dans une telle course. Le belge Peter Schockaert s´impose au sprint devant ses trois compagnons d´échappée, dont deux de ses coéquipiers, démontrant la large domination de l´équipe belge Go Pass ABX. Le premier français, Jean Zen, de l´équipe Vendée U, termine a un peu plus d´une minute.

Tour du Grand Montréal: Jeanson déjà en jaune!

Geneviève Jeanson ( Rona-Esker) a remporté le Prologue du Tour du Grand Montréal.

Elle s´est imposée dans le contre-la-montre de Lachine, en réalisant un temps encore meilleur qu´en 2002. Ses compatriotes Bessette et Jutras de l´équipe Saturn terminent réspectivement aux 3ème et 4ème place.

Gina Grain, également canadienne, remporte au sprint la 1ère étape. Au classement général trois canadiennes sont dans les quatre premières places.

Allemagne - Etape 1 : Zabel dans le deuil

La 1ère étape du Tour d´Allemagne aura été marquée par la longue échappée de Jürgen Bo Petersen ( Fakta) qui aura compté jusqu´ à 12 minutes d´avance à 80 km de l´arrivée.

Suite à l´action combinée des Saeco et des Telekom, il sera reprit par le peleton à 3.5 km de l´arrivée. Tout profit évidemment pour les sprinters qui trouvent encore ici l´occasion de s´adjuger un beau succès et c´est avec beaucoup de facilité que Erik Zabel remporte le sprint.

Le coureur de la Telekom endosse du même coup le maillot de leader de l´épreuve.

Un beau succès qui n´effacera pas le terrible drame qui s´est produit ce matin avec la perte de Fabrice

Tour du Grand Montréal: échappée payante de Le Floch!

La championne de France s´est imposée au terme de la 2ème étape du Tour du Grand Montréal.

Au 75ème kilomètre de course, elle creusa un écart d´une vingtaine de secondes en compagnie de Lyne Bessette et Amber Neben. Elles furent reprises cinq kilomètres plus loin. Kristin Armstrong tenta alors sa chance. Sans succés car à l´arrière la chasse s´organisait. A nouveau le trio Le Floch, Bessette, Neben provoqua la cassure à une vingtaine de kilomètres de l´arrivée. Magali Le Floch s´impose au sprint sur Amber Neben qui s´empare du maillot jaune. Bessette finit 3ème à 3 secondes et le peloton principal composé de vingt-quatre unités termine à 34 secondes de Le Floch.

Allemagne - étape 2 victoire de Löwik

La seconde étape du Tour d´Allemagne disputée entre Altenburg et Kronach sur un parcours très accidenté a permit aux baroudeurs de se distinguer.

Après 30 km une échapée de 3 coureurs se dessine avec Grégory Rast ( Phonak), Gerben Löwik ( BankGiro Loterij) et Roberto Lochowski ( Wiesenhof), ce groupe profite de l´ indifférence du peleton pour creuser un écart conséquent.

A 50 km de l´ arrivée Lochowski se fait distancer par ses 2 compagnons. Löwik s´impose alors devant Rast, le peleton d´une cinquantaine de coureurs est règlé par Wegman

Allemagne - Etape 3 Victoire de Van Bon

La 3° étape du tour d´Allemagne disputée sur 191.7 km entre Coburg et Ansbach a permit aux baroudeurs de se distinguer; dès le départ réel nous avons assisté à de nombreuses attaques qui ont permit à un groupe de 3 coureurs, Van Bon ( LOT), Agnolutto ( A2R) et Van der Ven ( BCT), de s´échapper.

Ce groupe parviendra à conserver quelques longeurs d´avance sur le peleton jusqu´ à l´arrivée au Van Bon devance Agnolutto et Van der Ven.

Eko Tour: les Colnago font la course en tête!

Valentina Stiajkina est en tête du classement général de l´Eko Tour ( 2.9.2) au terme des deux premières étapes.

Trois coéquipières de Vélodames-Colnago se sont placées aux trois premières places de la 1ère étape disputée mercredi. Valentina Stiajkina s´est imposée dans la seconde étape, disputée jeudi, et s´est emparée du même coup du maillot de leader. Après deux étapes, quatre des cinq premières du classement général appartiennent à l´équipe Vélodames Colnago.

Allemagne - Etape 4 Quaranta au sprint

Quaranta ( SAE) remporte l´étape, il devance Van Dijck ( LOT) et Kirsipuu ( A2R). Au classement général Löwik se rapproche à 11 s de Rast.

La 4° étape du Tour d´ Allemagne n´ a pas échappée aux sprinteurs malgrès les efforts d´un trio composé d´Olivier Trastour ( A2R), de Nicola Gavazzi ( SAE) et de Matthé Pronk ( BCT).

Ce groupe, partit très tôt dans l´étape, ne parviendra pas à creuser un écart important avec le peleton qui les reprendra à 9,5 km de l´arrivée. C´est un peleton complet qui se présente à l´arrivée, Quaranta remporte le sprint massif devant Van Dijck et Kirsipuu.

José Antonio Pecharroman a remporté uns econd succès sur les routes de la Bicyclette Basque. il s´est en effet adjugé la troisième étape en solitaire en devançant sur la ligne Perdiguero et Casagrande.

Beloki a pris la quatrième place du jour tandis que Dave Bruylandts n´est pas loin car il serait onzième.

Avec 7 cols à escalader aujourd´hui sous la chaleur des Alpes en Juin, beaucoup de coureurs avaient convenus dès le départ leur abandon, semble-t-il. Ainsi, Tyler Hamilton, Richard Virenque ou Laurent Brochard firent quelques kilomètres de mise en jambes avant de rapidement baisser pavillon.
Devant, la course était en effet partie très vite, puisqu´au 10e kilomètre quelques outsiders se détachaient pour vivre cette longue journée à l´avant: Vicente Garcia Acosta ( iBanesto.com), Iker Flores ( Euskaltel), Christophe Oriol ( Ag2r), Ludovic Martin ( Jean Delatour), Loic Lamouller ( BigMat), Ivailo Gabrovski ( MBK-Oktos) et Benoît Salmon ( Phonak). Le peloton ne laisse pas fait très longtemps et limitait l´écart à environ 3-4 minutes. Les cols se succédaient et les plus faibles du groupe lachaient: Flores, Lamouller, Gabrovski et Garcia Acosta laissaient leurs 3 compagnons seuls dans le Col du Granier. Plusieurs contre-attaques se formait derrière Martin, Oriol et Salmon avec Mayo, Mancebo et Millar notamment.Mais trop dangereux, ces hommes étaient rapidement repris et c´est Casar, très actif aujourd´hui, Chaurreau, et Menchov qui partaient dans la côte de Méribel. L´espagnol d´Ag2r était le seul à insister derrière...Oriol, et partait seul à la poursuite de Salmon qui avait laché l´ex-vainqueur du Tour de l´Ain.
Au sommet du Col du Cucheron ( à 25 km de l´arrivée), le français de la Phonak ne comptait qu´une minute sur le duo Oriol-Chaurreau et on ne donnait pas cher de sa peau. Le peloton était une minute derrière emmené par Mercado et Menchov notamment.
Le Col du Granier, dernière ascension, serait celle de trop pour Salmon. Il était rattrapé peu avant le sommet par Paco Mancebo qui avait attaqué nettement dans le peloton, et avait repris tour à tour Oriol, Chaurreau puis Salmon. 25 secondes au sommet, une descente bien maitrisée, et le maillot blanc du Tour 2001 pouvait tranquillement lever les bras sur la ligne d´arrivée à Chambéry. Il complétait ainsi un palmarès où les espagnols ont la part belle ( 6 podiums dont 3 victoires depuis 99).
Benoit Salmon terminait 2e comme en 99 après une journée plus que rassurante pour les supporters du breton.
David Millar prenait une surprenante 3e place, mais quelque chose nous dit qu´on ne sera bientôt plus surpris de voir l´écossais arriver à de tels résultats. Parmi les autres satisfactions, on notera la performance de Piotr Wadecki et Cédric Fragnière.

Fernando Serrano a remporte le classement final du Tour de Tarragone ( cat.2.6) dans lequel il a remporté 2 étapes, notamment le contre-la-montre. Les autres étapes ont été remportées par Gritsun ( Rus), Fernando Fernandez ( Esp), Abakoumov ( B) et Klimov ( Rus).

Au classement final, le meilleur belge est Abakoumov ( 10e) tandis que Nicolas Reinaud termine meilleur français à la 12e place.
