Picardie: Les sprinters profitent

Les sprinters ont savouré la dernière étape en ligne de ce Tour de Picardie, qui s´est conclue par une victoire de Stefan Van Dijk, second la veille. Hunt sera en jaune pour le contre-la-montre de cet après-midi.

L´étape fut animée par deux belges, Sébastien Mattozza ( Marlux) et Glenn d´Hollander ( Lotto). Partis au kilomètre 15, ils ne comptèrent jamais plus d´une minute et quarante-cinq secondes d´avance sur un peloton vigilant. Ils passaient en tête au sprint de Verberie mais n´y comptaient que 40 secondes d´avance. Sous l´impulsion des MBK Oktos de Jeremy Hunt le leader, les deux fuyards étaient repris à 13 kilomètres de l´arrivée.
Le sprint était inévitable, et les Lotto-Domo étaient vigilants pour éviter toute mauvaise surprise. c´est dans un fauteuil que Stefan van Dijk était emmené et remportait finalement l´étape devant Kirsipuu et Julian Dean, Hunt ne terminant que...41e!
Cet après-midi, le britannique s´élancera en dernier de Nogent sur Oise pour le court contre-la-montre de 5.5 km, et aura bien du mal à conserver son maillot jaune, puisque Mc Gee figure à 9 secondes au classement général, et Millar à 10...

Millar, une réponse expéditive

David Millar a répondu aux critiques de François Migraine en remportant le Tour de Picardie. Il a terminé 2e du contre-la-montre à moins d´une seconde de Dominguez ( Phonak)

Marc Streel avait été le premier à passer la barre des 8 minutes en 7.58 sur ce court contre-la-montre. Mais lorsque les favoris partirent, son temps parut soudainement moyen. En effet, Michael Rogers claqua un 7.33 avant que Dominguez signe le meilleur temps en 7.24.92. David Millar parvenait presque à battre l´espagnol mais échouait pour 75 centièmes de seconde!
Cependant, l´écossais remportait ce Tour de Picardie, en amenant un peu de soleil à la formation nordiste. La victoire de Dominguez fait également du bien à la Phonak, qui a de fortes chances de ne pas être sélectionné au Tour de France...La réponse demain.

Le maillot vert du classement par points revient à Baden Cooke, tandis que le classement par équipe désigne la Cofidis comme meilleur collectif de ce Tour du Picardie.

Trophée Matteotti : Lagutin se dévoile

L´Ouzbek Sergey LAGUTIN ( Palazzago-Vellutex-Zoccorinese) a remporté aujourd´hui la 50ème édition du Trophée Matteotti ( 1.6) à Marcialla ( Italie) course internationale réservée au moins de 23 ans.

La victoire finale s´est dessinée à 10 km de l´arrivée sur la montée du Canaglia.

Quatre hommes réussissaient à prendre une poignée de secondes au peloton et à se dégager pour disputer la victoire au sprint.

Derière Lagutin dans l´ordre Guido Balbis, Mori et Pidgornyy.
Le Trophée Matteotti des moins de 23 ans, à ne pas confondre avec l´épreuve du même nom réservée en Juillet aux professionnels, figure en bonne place dans la hiérarchie des épreuves cotées du calendrier des espoirs.

Loire-Atlantique Espoirs : Drujon pour l´étape, Bergès pour le général

La troisième étape du Loire-Atlantique Espoirs, courue sous la pluie, a été remportée par Mathieu Drujon tandis qu´Emilien Bergès, vainqueur d´étape la veille remporte l´épreuve.

Comme le samedi, le soleil a brillé par son absence sur la troisième étape du Loire-Atlantique Espoirs, remplacé par la pluie qui est tombé pendant les 3/4 de l´épreuve. Cette étape a d´abord été marquée par une chute dès le 7ème km, dans les lacets du Cellieréparpillant l´arrière-garde du peloton. A l´entrée sur le circuit final ( 12 km à parcourir 8 fois), une quinzaine d´hommes possédaient 1 minute et demi d´avance sur ce qui restait du peloton. Les conditions climatiques n´aidant pas, quelques hommes lâchaient prise à l´avant tandis que d´autres essayaient de sortir du peloton, sans succès. A quelques kilomètres de l´arrivée, 7 hommes s´extraient du groupe de tête alors que le peloton revient fort et c´est Mathieu Drujon ( Pays de Loire) qui l´emporte au sprint devant Nicolas Rousseau ( Orléanais) et Anthony Boyer ( Poitou-Charentes).

Glen Chadwick remporte le Tour de Corée

Le coureur Australien apporte ainsi une belle victoire à son équipe nouvellement créée, le Team Giant Asia. Chadwick s´était imposé en solitaire dans la 3ème étape, une étape de montagne tandis que Cho ( encore lui!!!) remportait les 4ème et 6ème étapes et Wong la 5ème.

Si cette semaine en Corée aura consacré 2 coureurs reconnus, en l´occurence Kam Po Wong vainqueur de 2 étapes et Glen Chadwick, vainqueur d´une étape et du classement général, elle aura surtout révélé un talentueux sprinter Sud-Coréen en la personne de Ho Sung Cho, vainqueur de 3 étapes. Ce coureur de Seoul City, aura, avec les Australiens de MGZT été le seul à réellement contester la suprématie des deux équipes professionnelles Asiatiques, le Team Marco Polo et le Team Giant Asia. Il ne faut non plus oublier la très belle performance de Jong Jae Kim, qui s´était permis de régler tous les spécialistes dans un prologue de haute volée remporté à plus de 52 km/h.

Tour de l´Aude: Les canadiennes passent à l´attaque.

Lyne BESSETTE remporte la deuxième étape du Tour de l´Aude.

L´étape d´aujourd´hui emmenait le peloton autour de Rieux-Minervois, ville du départ et de l´arrivée de l´étape. Ina-Yoko TEUNTENBERG, coéquipière de BESSETTE, porta les premières attaques.

A l´approche du Col de Jouys, situé à mi-parcours, ROSSNER, coéquipière de Judith ARNDT et TEUNTENBERG imprimèrent un rythme soutenu. Dans l´ascension du Col un groupe de 24 coureuses, parmi lesquelles les principales du classement général, se détacha du reste du peloton sous l´impulsion de Valentina POLKHANOVA ( Velodames-Colnago). Dans la descente, le groupe s´ettoffa pour compter jusqu´à 36 unités. Profitant d´une attaque française, Manon JUTRAS ( Saturn) prit le large. A l´occasion du sprint intermédiaire situé à 17 km de l´arrivée, Anita VALEN se lança à sa poursuite avec BESSETTE dans sa roue. La canadienne, double lauréate de la course en 1999 et 2001 s´adjuge l´étape mais le maillot jaune échoit sur les épaules d´Anita VALEN ( Bik-Powerplate). Magali LE FLOC´H, première française, est 5ème à 1´50".

Demain la troisième étape longue de 121km sera disputée autour de Lézignan-Corbières. Une étape difficile avec trois cols au programme, deux de première catégorie et un de deuxième catégorie. Lyne BESSETTE pourrait refaire parler d´elle…

Camille Bouquet signe une belle victoire au Tour des chemins de croix

Camille Bouquet ( VCRoubaix) a remporté le 3ème Tour des chemins de croix au bout d´une course rendue éprouvante par la pluie et les chemins....de terre.

Le 3ème Tour des chemins de croix, c´est un peu le 3 en 1 : patrimoine, histoire et course cycliste dans le Pays de St Malo. Ce chemin de croix compte 12 stations, ou plutôt 12 chemins empierrés, même si, au dernier moment, les organisateurs en ont supprimé un , trop glissant, par charité chrétienne sans doute.

La petite quarantaine de partants ont dû affronter la pluie toute l´après midi. Stéphane Pétilleau ( VC Roubaix) déjà à l´origine de plusieurs cassures, en tête dès le premier chemin de terre, s´est dégagé à 50 km de l´arrivée avec Christophe Thébault, son ancien coéquipier chez Jean Floc´h.

A l´arrière, un autre duo Jean Floc´h-Roubaix ressortait pour boucher le trou : Camille Bouquet ( VCR) et Samuel Gicquel ( Jean Floc´h). Le mur de la " Goutte" ( à 25 km de l´arrivée environ), allait faire déborder le calice de Gicquel, calice qu´il but jusqu´à la lie puisqu´il a tenu à finir, dernier rescapé, porteur des stygmates d´une course rude. Vuelta ciclista Madrid : victoire finale de Antonio Lopez

Antonio Lopez remporte la Vuelta de Madrid dans laquelle le français Champeymont a brillé.

Les 4 et 5e étape de la Vuelta de Madrid ( cat.2.6) ont été remportées par
l´Espagnol Julio Albert Dominguez et l´Italien Rigotto. Au classement
général final, c´est l´Espagnol Antonio Lopez qui s´impose. A noter les
bonnes prestations des Français Nicolas Reynaud et surtout Champeymont qui
termine 8e du classement final.

Un estonien à Gémozac !

L´espoir estonien Tarmo Raudsepp, 21 ans, a remporté dimanche sa première course de la saison ( élites 2).

Il figurait dans une échappée de 14 hommes réduite à 7, en compagnie de son coéquipier de Nantes 44 Cyclisme Christophe Diguet. Ils ont attaqué à tour de role ce qui a permis à Raudsepp de s´isoler avec Sébastien Duret ( Jean Floc´h-Moréac 56). Il empoche ainsi une victoire précieuse pour le moral avant de rentrer au pays disputer avec son équipe nationale les deux épreuves professionnelles prévues cette semaine: le Baltic Open à Tallin ( 1.3) vendredi 23 et le GP de Tartu ( 1.3 également) samedi 24, où sont prévues les participations de Cofidis, Ag2r, Oktos, Landbouwkrediet, Ringerike...

Tour de l´Aude: Anita VALEN toujours en jaune.

Ghita BELTMAN s´est imposée au sprint devant sa compatriote MELCHERS ( Farm-Frites) et la porteuse du maillot jaune Anita VALEN lors de la 3ème étape du Tour de l´Aude autour de Lézignan-Corbières. Au classement général, pas de changement significatif, excepté l´effondrement de Manon JUTRAS qui passe de la 3ème à la 25ème place. Iolanta POLIKEVICIUTE perd son maillot de leader du classement de la montagne au profit de Fabiana LUPERINI.

Tour de l´Aude: Saturn en force!

Manon JUTRAS ( Saturn) s´est imposée à Saint-Laurent de la Cabrerisse et sa coéquipière TEUTENBERG à Durban-Corbières, au cours de la 4ème étape du Tour de l´Aude disputée en deux tronçons.

Au cours du premier, la course fut très animée avec de nombreuses attaques. Manon JUTRAS s´impose en solitaire sur un parcours qui ne comptait pas de difficultés majeures, excepté un col situé à mi-parcours ( 375 m d´altitude). JUTRAS finit 48 secondes devant un peloton comptant 73 coureuses dont les principales favorites. Elle remonte de deux places au classement général ( 23ème à 3 minutes de VALEN).

Au cours du second tronçon, l´australienne Alison WRIGHT profita d´un fort vent latéral pour placer une puissante attaque après 2km de course. Rapidement le peloton a explosé sous l´impulsion des Saturn bien décidées à mener la chasse. Un groupe de 18 coureuses s´est alors formé. Parmi les piégées figuraient Fabiana LUPERINI et les soeurs POLIKEVICIUTE, coéquipières de la grimpeuse italienne. L´écart entre le groupe de tête et le peloton est résté stable durant une dizaine de kilomètres ( 1´30"). A l´arrière, la chasse était menée par l´équipe d´Allemagne, intéressée par le classement de la meilleure jeune puisque Liane BALHER est actuellement seconde de ce classement derrière sa compatriote Trixi WORRACK ( Nurnberger Versicherung). Malgré ses effort la tentative fut vaine puisque l´écart est monté jusqu´à trois minutes. Sur le final, Judith ARDNT, vierge de toute victoire cette saison, a tenté de s´extraire du groupe. Elle fut immédiatement contrée par TEUTENBERG avec SLIOUSSAREVA dans sa roue. Dans le dernier kilomètre, le groupe était de nouveau uni. TEUTENBERG gagne le sprint.

Mercredi un difficile contre-la-montre individuel de 31,5km dans Castelnaudary attend les 111 rescapées de ce Tour de l´Aude où le vent pourrait jouer un rôle déterminant en raison du profil de l´étape. Ce sera l´occasion pour Judith ARNDT de tenter de réduire son retard ( 1´48") sur Lyne BESSETTE. Cette étape, située à mi-course, pourrait jouer un rôle primordial dans la suite du Tour en apportant quelques clarifications au classement général. Les organismes subissant la fatigue des premiers jours de course, les écarts pourraient être importants à l´arrivée...

Tour de Belgique-étape 1:Steels renoue avec la Victoire

Tom Steels a renoué avec la victoire lors de la première étape du Tour de Belgique qui a été très animée en raison des chutes qui ont scindé le peloton en deux.

C´est la deuxième victoire de la saison pour Tom Steels qui avait déjà remporté une étape de l´Etoile de Bessèges en février dernier. Il prend du même coup la tête au classement général de l´épreuve.

A noter que des coureurs comme Mattan, Belohvocic ou Bodrogi ont fait une excellente opération en rentrant avec les 56 leaders. En effet, ce sont eux qui se disputeront le général de l´épreuve lors du contre-la-montre.

Le peloton, où de grands noms comme Voskamp ont été piégés, était pointé au dernier écart à plus de 15 minutes.

Tour de l´Aude: BESSETTE s´empare du maillot jaune!

Sara CARRIGAN ( Bik-Powerplate) s´est imposée dans le contre-la-montre individuel de 31,5 km à Castelnaudary. La canadienne Lyne BESSETTE, double lauréate de l´épreuve, revêt le maillot jaune. Classée cinquième à 1´18" de l´australienne, elle prend la tête du classement général. Judith ARNDT, lauréate en 2002 a réussi à refaire une partie de son retard sur la canadienne. Elle pointe désormais à 1´17" de BESSETTE et se hisse à la deuxième place du classement général. La jeune australienne Olivia GOLLAN parvient pour sa part à se maintenir parmi les meilleures. Elle n´est désormais qu´à 4 secondes de la deuxième marche du podium.

Sandrine MARCUZ-MOREAU qui s´était imposée dans la 1ère étape avait fait un très bon début de Tour. Elle a perdu beaucoup de temps aujourd´hui ( 4´31") et dégringole de la 4ème à la 13ème place du classement général. Elle reste la première française de ce classement. L´étape de demain, longue de 115km sera disputée autour de Castelnaudary, sur un parcours en dents de scie.
