Crazy Climber clings to Nintendo Wii

The pages of Famitsu are reporting today that an almost-forgotten arcade title entitled Crazy Climber, which features a brave man with a mission to scale tall buildings, is being resurrected for the Nintendo Wii nearly 30 years after its original Arcade release. Head below for the first details and screens.
The Arcade version challenged players to push two joysticks alternatively in order to help the game’s character scale a variety of vertical plains, a concept that the Wii Remote and Nunchuck will replace in his current generation re-working.
Players will climb apartment blocks, skyscrapers and other buildings with an aim of reaching the top with their lives intact. The mission will be made trickier by hazards such as open windows, falling pots and, erm, giant apes. A selection of daredevils will be available to choose from, each with their own strengths and weaknesses (let’s hope one of them isn’t vertigo).
The third Crazy Climber title (the first was released in 1980 and a sequel followed in 1988) will hit Japanese stores on December 20. We’ll keep you posted on any news of it reaching the West.
