GIMX stands for Game Input MultipleXer or Game Input MatriX. This project is about using a PC to control a video game console. It currently only works with the PS3, but the 360 is a also targeted.
It operates:
¤ over bluetooth: works with Linux only. A compatible bluetooth dongle is required. Tutorial.
¤ over usb: works with Linux and Windows. A usb-usb adapter is required. Tutorial.
The application gets inputs from the PC peripherals (mice, keyboards and joysticks) and sends controls to the PS3 over bluetooth or usb. PC peripherals can be emulated ones, so that alternative controls are possible (such as gesture or voice controls).
