Analyst Predicts PS3 Launch Info Tomorrow; PS3 Delay Possible

Hirokazu Hamamura, president of Famitsu publisher EnterBrain, has weighed in on the PS3´s chances for a Spring 2006 launch. And he asserts that, because Sony has not yet begun taking orders for the PS3, "it would be difficult for the company to begin sales in May."

In other PS3 news, an analyst report indicates that, among other things, more concrete information on PS3 launch specifics could be coming as soon as tomorrow.

That report comes from Amtech Research analyst P.J. McNealy, a familiar name to game industry insiders. McNealy´s piece focuses on Xbox 360 issues, but ends with a prediction that Sony will give "directional information on the PS3 about launch plans and pricing," but that this information might be "high level" and non-specific. McNealy also expects to hear more about the PS3´s Blu-ray format, including new studio partners.
