Electronic Arts announced two great pieces of news today: first, that the PS3 will be available in North America during holiday 2006, and second, that they are working on a new Medal of Honor game that will appear on the PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Xbox and PC.

The first bit of news wasn´t necessarily groundbreaking, but it confirmed that the PS3 will be available this winter. Various sources had indicated that Sony might have suffered a bit of a delay with its next-generation PlayStation.

The second piece of news, though, the announcement of Medal of Honor Airborne, was definitely new (and awesome) information. Medal of Honor Airborne will put players in the role of Boyd Travers, a Private First Class in the 82nd Airborne, who finds himself in battles throughout Europe. From Sicily to Germany, each mission begins behind enemy lines with a fully interactive airdrop.

Considering this interactive airdrop, gamers will have the ability to determine their own starting point, which will change the way each mission plays out. While in the air, players can view the entire operation, then control their parachute to choose their landing spot. When on the ground, players will assess the terrain and take out foes with a variety of customizable weapons.

EA also said the "free roaming" nature of the pre-mission airdrop will extend to the entire mission, as Medal of Honor Airborne will feature free-roaming environments.

malheureusement je pense que EA parle des "holidays" du "winter", en gros les vacances d´hiver... ils disent que la ps3 sortira aux USA au moins pour les vacances d´hiver donc peut être sortira-t-elle avant...

A moins que le mec qui parle est dans l´hémisphère sud, winter holiday 2006 ça désigne plutôt décembre et pas juillet/août.

Sur un autre forum par rapport a cet news il parle de mai ou cet ete alors j´en sait rien!!!

pour moi c une certitude la ps3 sortira quand la ps2 n´aura pluqs de gros jeux prevu le dernier pour moi etant ff12
donc vous prennez la date de sorti de ff12 et voila
vous avez a peu preès la date de sorti de la ps3

their NDA can´t be up. I was talking on a forum to a programmer from Geurilla Games and they said their NDA won´t be up till at minimum before the conference in febuary.

I think this is just a rumour.. If it was actually on an EA site i might believe it.. but even then it can´t be true...

well EA didnt really say this.. Game Daily did... if i saw an official EA site saying this i´d believe it about 50%... Sony would NEVER leave it to a game developer to annonce their console´s release

Les vacances d´hiver dont il parle c´est pas en février. Mais bien décembre comme ils l´annoncé avant.

Ils n´ont donc pas changé d´avis et montre bien les sortie début 2007 pour l´europe mise apaprt si ils nous l´a fait comme psp c´st à dire 10mois d´attente par rapport à la sortie japonaise.
Et donc une sortie Mars avril mai
