Who Can Enter
1. Entrants must be legal residents of the U.S. who are 13 years of age or older and have lawful access to the Internet with a valid e-mail address that was active prior to 6:00 p.m. PST on February 1, 2002.
2. Employees of Twentieth Century Fox Television, (“Sponsor”) and FOX Broadcasting Company and their respective affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of such employees, are ineligible.
How To Enter
1. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Only one entry per e-mail address. A screen name can only be entered once. If a valid screen name is entered more than once, then the first valid submission shall be accepted. Subsequent screen name submissions of the same screen name shall be discarded even if submitted by a different e-mail address. In the event of a dispute, Sponsor will deem each entry to have been submitted by the holder of the e-mail account from which it was sent. The Sweepstakes Period begins at 12:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 and ends at 12:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday, March 6, 2002.
2. To enter, access the Official Site of “The X-Files” at www.thexfiles.com and follow all instructions to e-mail a Sweepstakes entry.
3. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Participants grant Sponsor the irrevocable right to use the submitted screen name in all media, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the universe and in perpetuity.
4. Approximately nine winner(s) per designated episodes will be selected by a random drawing from among valid entries having acceptable screen names. Sponsor has the sole discretion in accepting or rejecting screen names to be entered into the random drawing. While not an all inclusive list, Sponsor may reject a screen name that includes or refers to offensive terms, actual products, websites, registered trademarks, registered servicemarks or copyrights.
5. Sponsor is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry, winner(s) or other Sweepstakes information by Sponsor or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the Sweepstakes or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Winner(s)
1. Each selected screen name will be inserted into the main titles segment of one of the following episodes (which may be changed) 9ABX12 through 9ABX19 for on-air broadcast. Ten Thirteen Productions, Inc. will have complete discretion as to inclusion in which episode and where in the main titles. The approximate retail value of each prize is $1.00 and the approximate total retail value for all prize packages is $72.00. The broadcast dates for such episodes may be changed or deleted (not broadcast). No screen credit will be awarded for use of the selected screen name.
2. Winner(s) will be notified by e-mail. Winner(s) will be required to sign and return an Affidavit and Release within 2 days of date printed on notification or they will be disqualified. If an eligible minor´s screen name is selected, the parent or legal guardian will be required to complete and return an Affidavit and Release on the minor’s behalf. If a notification is returned to Sponsor or its designated agent as undeliverable, another selection will occur, if possible, from the remaining pool of valid entries. Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use winners’ names, hometowns, likenesses, and photographs for online posting, and/or any advertising and publicity without additional compensation.
3. The winner(s) cannot assign or transfer the selection. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value, including cash, for any reason.
4. The winner(s) is responsible for all local, county, state, and federal taxes on being selected based on the value of the selection as set forth in these rules.
5. Only one entry per e-mail address. As per FOX Broadcasting Company´s privacy policy each entry must include the name and address of the participant.
Odds of Winning
1. Odds of winning depend on the number of valid entries received.

3. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law, including without limitation, in jurisdictions requiring registration, filing, trust account, or posting of a bond, or any other requirements or disclosures that are not expressly satisfied by these rules.
4. Participants warrant and represent that their entries represent screen names registered to them and that they are not aware of others using such screen name.
5. By entering, participants represent that they are eligible, and agree (a) to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, (b) to release Sponsor , Ten Thirteen Production, Inc. and FOX Broadcasting Company , and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by any prize or resulting from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize, and (c) to Fox Broadcasting Company’s use of participants’ personal information as described in its Privacy Policy located at http://www.fox.com/corporate/privacypolicy.htm
