Voilà leur program une fois DSlinux réalisé :
Like the title says, what apps will be in the final release?
Oh, I´m sure there will be alpha and beta versions running CLI only, or a quick-´n-dirty GUI, or an X port or something. But when the fianl ( or at least 1.0) release comes out ( months or years from now), what will be on it?
Here´s what I am hoping to see:
1) Web browser. Konquerer or Mozilla FireFox, perferably. Also perferred would be the Flash/Shockwave plugins ( if possible on this system), and any other common plugins that are used everywhere.
2) Network browser, of course. Something that lets your DS connect to WiFi networks and get an IP address and all, since NiFi is just standard WiFi without using IP addresses from what we know so far. That way we can go online and use the web browser. And if possible can access Windows shares ( Mac shares aren´t necessary, since OS X can use Windows file sharing as well).
3) Text editor- something thats at least on the level of RTF, though something like OpenOffice that can open DOC would be nice ( I´m not forgetting that we want this to be able to fit on a small cartridge).
4) Onscreen keyboard- an obvious must.
5) Terminal + some tools that can run in Terminal, such as, oh, Nmap. And we must be able to use Telnet, of course, so we can spam people with a handheld laugh.gif
6) Media player. At least AVI and MPG, if possible MOV ( Quicktime).
7) Picture viewer, so you can show JPEGs, GIFs, TIFFs ( maybe), and BMPs.
8) Simple games?
9) If possible, make the whole thing fit on a 64 MB card, or at least 128. I don´t want to spend a fortune on bigger cards.
