Video game will have Air Force authenticity
MAY 11, 2004
MGM Interactive and game developer Perception will give the highly anticipated Stargate SG-1 video game real-life military authenticity, with a little help from the U.S. Air Force. MGM Interactive announced today that the Air Force will be involved as a consultant for the game, expected to be released in the summer of 2005 for the PC, PS2, and X-Box.
The Air Force has served as a consultant on the television series since its inception, ensuring accurate portrayals of military details in military insignia, weapons depicted in battle, Air Force character traits, the plausibility of storylines, etc.
" The U.S. Air Force is pleased to have been part of the Stargate SG-1 team since the beginning of this highly successful television series," said Pentagon spokesman Douglas Thar. " Our continued cooperation with the series and now the eagerly anticipated video game will ensure the authenticity of each will not be compromised," said Los Angeles based Air Force liaison Lt. Danner.
