Voilà ce que j´ai trouvé :
"windows xp error code 10

I recently reformatted my hard drive and installed windows xp pro. Now, when I boot my computer my geforce 2 mx400 pci video card does not start properly. In device manager, it sais "error code 10 Device cannot start". When I click uninstall device then search for new hardware, windows assigns the card an irq and it works perfectly. I do have an onboard agp card (sis 530/620). Is there any way to fix this? thanks in advance for any information. Windows XP always installs its own drivers too."

Si tu ne comprends pas l´anglais, il est dit qu´apparemment l´erreur 10 est générée par de mauvais drivers (il s´agit là d´une carte graphique mais le problème de l´audio est similaire).
Confirmé par cette définition du Code 10 :
"Windows error code 10 indicates a hardware error or failed driver installation. This error may appear if a device has insufficient power to operate correctly (e.g. plugged into a bus powered hub with other devices), or may indicate a more serious hardware problem. Also, it may be indicative of USB root hub drivers being incorrectly installed.
