At first, i think that pupils who study from their home are rather rare. This is a special education, and people like that are as excluded from the society. Indeed they don’t work as all people, they don’t have the same timetable and they are alone without classmates.
It can be a positive point like an disadvantage:
At home, we have time to study, noone is behind your back, there is no stress and we can take a break when we wish it.
Moreover we can remain more time on a subject which cause us some difficulty and thus ameliorate it. Parents can prefer this system instead of another independant of their ideals.

For me, this kind of education would be a failure because i will be more preoccupate by something else than styuding. For example, i probably stay at computer instead of learning. Indeed it is more pleansant to watch film or Japanimation like Fate/stay night, where Saber, the main character is more attractive than several historical dates.
