XLII. Sirena Beach, Episode 4 - The Secret of Casino Delfino

Unfortunately, this stage leads up to the second of two obstacle courses in
the Sirena Beach area. That´s okay, though. We have to do what we have to do.
From the beginning of the area, head north all the way to the Hotel Delfino
entrance. Talk to the owner outside of the entrance, and he´ll recommend that
you go ahead and head to the casino within his hotel. After that, you´ll be in
the hotel lobby. Head north, and then swing left. The hotel entrance is the
one behind some stained glass, south of where the men´s restroom is.
It´s "guarded" by a man. Talk to him and he´ll escort you into the grand
casino.
Once within the confines of the casino, you´ll be forced (you do it at your
leisure, but you can´t proceed without) playing slots. The two huge slots on
either end of the casino are the ones we need to play. With FLUDD´s water
cannon, spray the three slot blocks on each game until they are all sevens.
When you do that, a new game will appear from behind an extravagant red
curtain for you to play. With the slots, be careful of getting three ghosts...
if you do, a ghost will pop out of the machine. If that happens, jump on it
before he causes any problems, and he´ll die. As far as getting coins go, line
up the single coin for one coin, and the three coin blocks for three coins.
At the big game, you´ll see 16 question mark blocks. The idea is to spray them
all so that they face outward, creating a huge picture of a Shine. There´s not
a lot of strategy to it - you kinda just have to do it, y´know? Once that´s
done, the Shine picture will disappear, revealing a green warp pipe. Jump into
it, and welcome to the second of two Sirena Beach obstacle courses. Luckily,
this obstacle course is quite simple to get through, just like the original
Sirena Beach obstacle course we traversed in episode two of this campaign. It
just takes a little patience, and a lot of balance!
The obstacle course is hard to explain, so I won´t bother. There are two 1-Up
Mushrooms in the obstacle course though, which is good. Try getting both,
especially if you´re continuously dying - you´ll build up your extra life
reserve nicely through this. Just keep your balance and take your time! It´s
all about swiftness, jumping accuracy, and balance. Shadow Mario steals FLUDD
before we begin this obstacle course though (as he always does), so account
for that. If you have all of these things, you´ll get through this obstacle
course nicely, with very little trouble. At the end of the obstacle course,
you can claim your Shine. After you get through the obstacle course and get
the Shine there, go back. Press the red switch at the beginning, and you´ll
have one minute to get eight Red Coins strewn around the area. If you do this,
a new Shine will appear on the platform at the end of the area for you to
have. Since you´ll have FLUDD for the second time through the obstacle course,
it becomes instantly easier. The time period of a minute isn´t a lot of time
though, so be accurate and time your movements nicely. If you know you can´t
get the eight red coins in the time remaining, aim to get both extra lives (1-
Up Mushrooms) to ensure that you get another shot at it.
