tag 706721 + confirmed
thanks
* What led up to the situation?
My gamepad Logitech Precision, which is recognized in every emulators, is not recognized in VisualBoyAdvance.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I unplugged-plugged the controler, tried on other emulators (PCSXR, BSNES) at the same time and alternative, restart the OS, tried on 32 and 64 bits, on other computers.
* What was the outcome of this action?
Nothing, it was always the same, the controler never worked in VBA.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
It works then I can play with a gamepad like with other emulators.
Hello,
I have the same joypad as yours, tested and you are right that there
is no way to bind a joystick. "src/gtk/joypadconfig.cpp" seems to only
read from the keyboard. I don't know if it is possible to edit
directly the configuration file to read joysticks from SDL.
For a workaround, you can probably use joy2key (packaged in Debian) to
translate joystick press movements to key presses that will get
interpreted by gtk and gvba. I may add it as a "suggests:"
relationship.
Thanks for this bug report !
