Randolph may face charges
Portland Trail Blazers forward Zach Randolph could face criminal charges after he was accused of misleading police officers investigating his brother´s involvement in the shooting of three men at an Anderson, Ind., lounge early Sunday.
" It´s likely that will happen, but we haven´t made a final decision," Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said Tuesday.
Roger Randolph, 22, will be formally charged Thursday with firing shots that hit three men from Muncie, Ind., on the dance floor at Sinbad´s Lounge about 2 a.m. None of the injuries was life-threatening.
Charges against Zach Randolph also could be filed then, or at a later date pending a continued investigation by police.
According to witnesses, Zach Randolph held him as the shots were fired and then helped him leave.
Cummings said Zach Randolph, who lives with his mother in Marion in the offseason, was interviewed three times by police officers, and each time denied any knowledge of the incident.
His agent, Raymond Brothers, did not return a call Tuesday.
" It´s clear he filed false information to the police," Cummings said. " That´s a crime. You can´t provide false information in a criminal investigation."
