[Help] Petit texte anglais

"Unfortunately no car did not stop and finally he got a bus to the motorway. Moreover it was cold and he got wet as well. Luckily after waiting two hours along the motorway he got a lift from a lorry driver who was going to Manchester too. Obviously he felt pleased because he was tired and discouraged. During the trip the lorry driver was a nice man and although they didn't know each other they talked a lot. After a few minutes drive, the trip went well then a police car overtook them and made them stop and, even if they did not understand what was happening, they had to go to the police station. The lorry was searched thoroughly because the police thought he was carying stolen goods. When the excavation had been completed a policeman asked James a lot of questions. The lorry driver, after a moment, finally told the truth : he was a robber and James spent the night in the police station because he was suspected of complicity. Fortunately, after verification of his statements he was released the next day. Despite appearances, the lorry was carrying stolen television sets. After all these things James said he would not hitchhike again."

Merci à ceux qui voudront bien m'aider ! ^^

The first sentence is already kind of awkward, y'know
