Je n'ai pas un très bon niveau en anglais, donc j'aimerais qu'on me corrige les fautes les plus flagrantes.
Voici le texte,
Ellies Island, is a island which used as an immigration station, in front of New York. Between 1892 and 1924, it received approximately 16 millions of immigrants, specially immigrants of European origin. In this text, we know few things about the narrator, only he lived in a village and he is a part of immigrants who want to reach Ellie Island. He explains that the journey was difficult and that when he arrived in Ellis Island, he had mixed feelings : fear, dreams, and hopes. With other immigrants, he standed in line to be examined by a medical inspector. It is the moment when he noticed that the spoken languages were very different and so, the immigrants cam from everywhere. Moreover, he did a comparison between this place and the tower of Babel. After the second inspection, with the "eye man", he looked a man with the letter E written in chalk on his coat. He learnt, later, that it meant deportation. Some immigrants could be banned from enterring of America if his sight was not considered good enough. Before the final test he rehearsed the answers to questions he might be asked. When the time came, the official checked his name against a list where all the passengers's name were registired, then, the official fired questions at the narrator, about relatives, job and money, until he was confused. Finally, he received a landing card, and so, he inderstood that he was welcome to United States.
